She put her hands on my waist and gazed up at me. “I told you everything was going to be fine.”

I leaned over and wrapped my hand around the nape of her neck, pulling her close. “You did.”

“I love you,” she whispered, staring into my eyes.

“I love you too.”

I pressed my lips to hers, kissing her once everyone was out of the room—like we were just a couple of kids.

I am fulfilled.

I deserve the love I receive.

I am grateful for the people who love me.

I let out a deep breath and opened my eyes, thankful it was finally warm enough in Briar Glenn to take my yoga practice outside. A spring breeze whipped by, showering me with a flurry of cherry blossoms and sending a chill down my spine.

“Tell me again how you got those Alanis tickets.” I raised my brows and took another sip of my coffee.

He chuckled. “I told you, I know a guy who knows an orc.”

“Alistair Reid, I swear if you paid an arm and a leg for those tickets—”

“Shhh. A concert is on the list. We have to do it.”

The list of all the things I’d never done that we were slowly working our way through.

We sat there for a second, listening to the rustle of the trees swaying in the breeze, before Alistair finally spoke.
