“Hey,” he asked slyly. “Reece dropped off my uniform the other day. Do you want to see it?”

Not one to retire full-time, Alistair had applied for the Park Ranger position at the Briar Glenn Campground. As the head of the Briar Glenn Parks and Recreation Department, Reece was more than happy to give him the position—after a warning about the Moth Madam, that is.

The position allowed Al to live on-site in his RV, but when the campground closed for the winter, I was hopeful he’d move in with me and Remi.

“Yeah, why don’t you go put it on?”

He bit his lip. “I, uh, I didn’t mean like that. I was thinking maybe we could do a little role-play. Act out that scene we read the other day. Maybe play with our new toy.” He leaned over, his whiskers tickling my ear. “Would you like that? I know how much you love being my good girl.”

I set my cup down and raced him to the RV, the two of us practically climbing over one another to get through the door.
