“How are we going to drive three cars out of here?” I chuckle. I knew we were forgetting something.
I hold up a finger, signaling her to stay silent as I take my phone from my pocketand hit the call button for Aaron.
“Hey, shithead, come pick up your car from Chad’s shop. It’s parked on the opposite side of the road; I will drop you a pin.” I say as Aaron’s laugh greets me from the other side of the line.
“What about you and the lady?”
I look at Pinkie, who has already entered her new, shiny pink car and is ready to hit the street.
“We found new rides.”
I respond, opening the door of my car in the process. I was fully planning to sell this one, but how things turned out, I find myself without a vehicle, and that simply can’t happen. So, it’s mine now. We will need to hit a race soon enough, especially with all the repairs the house will need.
“Rides? Plural? What the hell did you do?” Aaron screams into his phone, no doubt ready to lose his shit. It’s not like we steal cars for a livingor anything.
“The lady wanted a pink car. Who am I to deny her?”
He chuckles, and I hit the button to end the call. I open our messaging app and drop a pin to our location before I enter the car.
“Hey, Lopez!” I yell to pinkie, and she lowers her passenger window.
“Yes, love?”
She flutters her lashes at me, looking all innocent and cute, making me want to jump out of this car and into hers.Jesus, Ash, we have things to do; get your horny self together.
“Give me your phone number, you little psycho.” She still looks at me, confused, before I add. "Once we hit the road, we will lose touch.”
She laughs, the puzzle pieces clicking into place, and starts reciting her phone numberas I click the numbers and make the call. I connect the phone to the car’s Bluetooth system, and her voice fills it.
“What’s next, pretty boy?”
She says with a giggle as she throws the car in reverse and exits the shop. I mimic her, doing the same. Once we hit the street, she blows a kiss and closes her window. Music fills both our cars from her side of the call.
“What do you say if we pay your boss a visit?” I say as we speed down the road. Pinkie drives with ease, almost like she is used to driving sports cars. If she were the one racing me the night we met, I would bet that it would almost be a tie. She is that good, and it makes me think about how strong, beautiful, and capable she is.
It’s one thing to have a beautiful woman by your side, but to have a beautiful psycho who would pull a gun in a street full of cops, won’t hesitatethreatening the guy that stole from you and would steal a car with you is a whole other thing. Every man’s dream, or more likely every man’s with a criminal record.
She leads the way to the coffee shop where she used to work. One of those shitholes that are open twenty four hours and their coffee tastes like donkey’s ass. We park right outside, and I follow the hot lady with pink hair and a baseball bat as she walks inside.
Chapter 6
Ash
“Roger! Come out, come out, wherever you are!”
Nova calls out to the man I assume is her boss, smashing things on her way to the kitchen as her bat brushes over every table. People with shocked looks on their faces try to get out of her way and out of the door, clearing the place in what seems like seconds.
This woman might be crazier than I am. Leave it to me to find someone that matches my psychotic self down to every minor detail. Including my temper when someone wrongs me.
“What the hell?”
A man yells behind the counter, an Italian accent hinted on his voice. I am guessing that’s Roger. He doesn’t seem happy to see us.Rude.Who wouldn’t be happy to see us? We are such a delight strolling in here, ready to mess the place up.
“So, I have bone to pick with you.”
Pinkie says, closing the space between them. She puts a hand around his throat, holding him in place. The man struggles under her hold, trying to talk, but she stuffs his mouth with a donut. The man seems to be having more trouble breathing than he should. He attempts to spit out the donut, but Nova puts a hand over his mouth and nose, securing the donut in place while she speaks to him.
“You underpay us,” she pushes him further against the wall.
