“So, it’s like a Chipotle but with like Greek food?” Taylor asked him excitedly. Fletcher thought it was so cute the way Taylor was so excited.
They grabbed their food and took it to go. They didn’t really want to risk being seen out in public together. Fletcher had been recognized by one of the workers there, but he didn’t seem to realize who he was with.
Not that it would be weird to be seen with his teammate during the off-season, anyway. Especially if they were going to be working the hockey camp together.
Fletcher’s dad had left him a message earlier to tell him he was glad he came to his senses. He also boastedabout how excited everyone would be to meet Taylor.
It made Fletcher sad that he wouldn’t be able to introduce him to his family as his boyfriend. They were really going to have to rein it in for the next two weeks, but at least they still had the afternoons and nights to be alone together. Honestly, Fletcher hadn’t realized how great it was to be in a relationship with his best friend. He already really liked hanging out with Taylor before they were together, but now their relationship was like an upgrade. He could be best friends and teammates with Taylor but then Taylor could drop to his knees and give him a blowjob in the privacy of their home. Honestly, it was the perfect situation.
Fletcher thought of how amazing it would be to live with Taylor. He’d been thinking about it all day. He knew he needed to work on a few things and maybe find a therapist, but Fletcher had really been considering asking Taylor to find a place with him. He had even looked at a few two-bedroom apartments online.
When they finished eating their food on the couch, Fletcher turned on the TV. “What do you wanna watch?” he asked Taylor.
“Anything but hockey.”
Fletcher scrolled through the different streaming services and decided to enlighten Taylor and turned on Game of Thrones. “I can’t believe you haven’t watched it,” Fletcher sighed.
“You know, I couldn’t really get past the incest,” Taylor quipped. Fletcher couldn’t argue with that.
“By the end of the first season you’ll forget they were even related,” he told Taylor. “Hopefully.”
Taylor was practically laying on top of Fletcher, so he pushed him off him and dragged Taylor to the bed. Of course, Fletcherinsisted they both strip down to their boxers because he didn’t want any outside clothes on his bed.
“Shouldn’t we change into pajamas?” Taylor asked him.
Fletcher looked at him and rolled his eyes. “What’s even the point?”
The bed didn’t have a headboard, so Fletcher leaned up against the wall. He wrapped his arms around Taylor as Taylor leaned against his chest. “You’re so warm,” Fletcher said into Taylor’s ear.
“Because it’s fucking hot in here,” Taylor complained.
“I set it to 67,” Fletcher laughed. He kissed the top of Taylor’s head. “Just give it a bit to kick in. It hasn’t been used since September.”
Taylor sighed. “You should get rid of this place,” he told Fletcher, keeping his eyes glued to the TV.
“My lease is up next month. I’m actually looking into a new place back home,” Fletcher said. He loved the fact that he could call Seattle his home. A home he worked for. A home he earned on his own merit.
“I’ve been thinking of moving out of the Panceks’ for a few weeks,” Taylor confessed. “I think I will once Jess leaves for school. I’ll probably need a two-bedroom for when he comes home for breaks.”
Fletcher smiled as he kissed the top of Taylor’s head again. “Aww, how sweet,” he teased.
Taylor still had his eyes on the TV. “I’m kind of a hard guy to sell a place to,” Taylor said plainly. He let out a sigh. “I have a lot of specific requirements.”
“Like what?” Fletcher asked. He could feel his face flush as he realized where this conversation was headed. He was relieved he wasn’t the only one thinking it.
“Well, two bedrooms and two bathrooms for starters. I refuse to share a bathroom with my brother ever again.”
“What else?” Fletcher asked.
“A bathtub, maybe. And a walk in the closet.”
“Those are all very important,” Fletcher told him with a chuckle.
Taylor let out a dramatic sigh. “There’s just one more thing that is kind of a non-negotiable,” he said.
Fletcher could feel butterflies in his stomach from the anticipation. “Which is?”
Finally, Taylor turned to look at him and smirked. “In-unit laundry.”
