Cat: What?!

Rand: Where you mash up two people’s names and make a ship name.

Cat: I understand the concept. I don’t understand what…

Flint: Ryker is a man of his word, but this is a whole new level. Never seen him this intense.

Rand: He LIKES you-likes you.

Flint: What is this, seventh grade?

Rand: *shrugging man emoji*

Wysdom: What they’re saying is - it’s only a matter of time before you and Mr. Sexy get matching heart tattoos.

Cam: Best to go along with it.

Celia: Inevitable.

Carolina: Like fate, but not the crazy kind.

Wysdom: I’m not wrong about these things.

Cat: Shit. Do you have some sort of bet going for this?

Five minutes and no responses later:

Cat: You’re all dead to me.

Chapter 29

“Now I’m thinking of handcuffs.”

-Ryker

Now that the truth was out there, we could use the Saber Security resources, which was good because one of the biggest suspects on our list was Premy Sagadore, a computer hacker genius.

We’d need Tatiana’s help to track her down.

Plus, we still had the pesky situation of that Drum guy, who is currently sitting on the other side of a two-way mirror in a Virginia safe house procured by Flint Mendota.

“So, I’m guessing you want to be good cop?” Cat snickers from my elbow.

I glare at her.

“I can totally see it. It’s all the tattoos. It makes you real approachable,” Cat laughs harder.

I fold my arms over my chest.

“Fine. I’ll be good and bad cop. You be,” she waves at my face. “Smoldering cop. C’mon.”

She pushes out of the viewing room and into the interrogation room before I can blink.

Shit. She’s fast.

I follow her into the room, silently pulling the door shut behind us.

Cat eases into a chair across the table from our prisoner. “How are you doing today, Drum? If that’s your real name.”
