“If this is your wish, then so it must be granted.” The words torture her as she says them.

She flicks her hand in the air and waves it at Brady. The mist slowly rises from his limp body and floats in the air above him for a moment, before it floats over to Samara. The mist, as if having a mind of its own, rotates into a long vertical oval and hovers for a moment. A second later, it pulses into her.

EVERLEE - TRAPPING THE DJINN

Samarascreamsout, headtilted towards the sky as her hands shoot down to her sides. After a few seconds, her head rotates back down to look at me, eyes black as the night. She smiles an evil smile and holds her hand up. “Did you think that would work?” Her voice is a combination of her shrill with the low tones of a demonic voice. “I feel… powerful. Wow!”

“We need to get out of here,” Lizzy says.

“Add this to the list of things I don’t fuck with!” Betty mumbles, holding her hands higher as she retreats closer to the door.

“Fuck!” Emmett yells near Jax, pulling his hands back. “I can’t get the chains off without getting burned.”

“No, you don’t. He’s mine. You all are!” she yells as she raises off the ground and hovers in the air.

She fires another light ball, but now they’re black. It explodes at Emmett’s feet and he goes flying across the room.

“Emmett!” I yell, running after him, but she throws a fireball at my feet, causing me to jump backwards.

My eyes are glued to Emmett, watching to see if he gets up. “Come on. Get up,” I urge quietly from across the room.

“Oh, stupid girl, what have you done?”

“You can’t make wishes. You made a wish. I granted it.”

“You simply made a wish.” She laughs, her evil voice echoing through the room. “And now you’re all going to die. They deserve it. Entrusting their lives to a foolish true fae. It’s a wonder your lot survived as long as they did.”

Fear and rage consume me, dominating for dominance. “Go!” I command the room, as I form a light ball in my hand.

“They’re no match for me. A mere pebble against a beast.”

I fire it off at her, and she dodges it.

Summoning all the strength I have, I let the rage, and fear, and passion for these people fill me. I fire the light balls off in rapid succession, repeatedly. I’m not even trying to hit her, just release enough energy into the room to give the guys back their power, if only temporarily.

“If this is-” I fire off more. “Your wish-” Three more. “Then so it must be granted.”

Callum lets out a deafening roar of his dragon, shaking the entire room.

Her eyes grow wide and she falls to the ground. “No! NO!”

Tony runs over to Jax and uses magic to pop the iron cuffs off his wrists and ankles. He falls to the ground and Emmett is over a second later, feeding him his wrist.

“No. This can’t be!” Samara shouts, the black smoke around her vanishes, leaving her hunched over on the ground.

Jax lets out a ferocious growl and leaps into the air, shifting into a werewolf, teeth bared, and pulled back over his white-hot gums.

“No. This can’t be.” She looks around the room.

“Thanks for telling me how tograntthe wish.”

She screams out, pounding her fist into the ground, before she turns into smoke and funnels like a small tornado into the bracelet on her wrist. It clatters to the ground, along with the others she was wearing, and we all just stare at everyone without speaking or moving for a moment.

Jax and Callum both shift back into their human forms and then all eyes turn to Brady. He slowly sits up, some color returning to his cheeks, but he’s still very weak.

Emmett is by his side a moment later, feeding him his wrist. Brady coughs at first, trying to suck in air and blood at the same time. He calms himself then grabs Emmett’s wrist again, sucking and drinking, to the point Callum and Jax have to step in and pull Emmett away.

“Sorry,” Brady whispers.
