“Fine. Let’s get this over with then. I don’t need the rest of your harem showing up and ruining this.”

“I have to be thoughtful in my wish because I know how you are.”

“Glad my reputation precedes me.”

The fact she is so proud of what a horrible person she is makes me absolutely sick.

“You!” She points at the Dullahan behind me. “Go check and make sure no one is coming. I don’t need her here wasting time for an ambush.” She looks at me, throwing her hand in the air. “Go on! Make your wish!”

“I need to think about how to word it. I want Jax to be safe. I want all the guys to be safe. I want their powers back for them. I want your spell broken on everyone who’s had their powers taken by you.”

“Sounds like you want a lot.”

“Simply, I just want to undo all the horrible shit you did.”

“That! That is what you should wish for, just like that!”

“No.” I roll my eyes.

“Darn. I could have had a lot of fun with it.” She taps her chin with her pointy fingernail and I just want to punch the smug look right off her face.

“Sorry, not sorry.”

She snarls her lips at me. “I’m getting impatient. Perhaps killing you would just be easier after all. There really isn’t a downside because…” she pauses, trying to remember the Dullahan’s name. “Well, whatever his name is… he will bring me back out with a wish.”

“Will he? He didn’t seem to be too happy to be your lackey.”

“He is plenty pleased with me.”

“Out of curiosity, what did you take from him?”

She thinks about it for a minute. “You know I can’t remember. It doesn’t matter, anyway.”

“Well, it may. I know four men who hate you with every fiber of their being and if they were tasked with being the ones to bring you back out, all could rest assuredly that wouldn’t happen. Tell me, if you’re banished away to your…”

“Nice try. I wasn’t born in the last century. You will not find out what my object is. I don’t need you using it against me.”

“Worth a shot.”

“Valiant effort.”

I shrug off her sarcastic praise. “Regardless, if you go back to your… whatever it is… doesn’t that break your spell?”

She looks at me, but doesn’t speak for a moment, then smiles. “No, it doesn’t.”

Damn. I don’t know if she’s lying.

“Everlee! Are you here?”

“Callum?”

“We’re here.”

Damn it. Panic tears through me. I look at Jax and he’s even paler than before and the puddle of blood at his feet is even greater. This has to happen now. If he has Brady, then that’s going to set the other plan into motion. The plan that could hurt a lot more people than just me.

No. I have to do it now to save them all. Callum, Jax, Emmett, Knox and Lizzy. She’s probably with them because there would be no way they could stop her. Goddess love the stubborn ass!

“I’m sorry.”
