“And?”

“Is this your backdoor way of trying to get me to give your pussy butterflies?”

“Backdoor is your thing… and front door… and side door? I’ve run out of door analogies for all the holes you like plugged.”

“I’d like to plug your hole.”

She starfish stands in front of me, legs spread, arms out in the air with her head back. “I thought this day would never come! Plug away!”

“People are watching and I was talking about your mouth, you perv.”

“I thought you liked people watching.” She makes an o face and places her hand over her mouth. “And you say perv, where I say wishful thinking.”

“Too. Much.”

“Love. You.”

“I’ll call you later.”

“Hey. Let’s talk weekend deets! It’s Memorial Day weekend. I’m thinking a little par-tay? Low key, cook out at your place. Boy toy one can cook something special.” She claps her hands. “I know what you all can be for Halloween.”

“I’m scared to ask.”

“They can be thing one, two, three and four and you can be that sexy cat with a hat.”

Why did I just get images of the leather cat woman domme outfit again?

My watch buzzes to remind me of my meeting in fifteen minutes. “Need to run. I’ll think about the costume.”

“XOXO love bug. Go do adulting!” She shouts after me, loud enough to be embarrassing.

JAX – GOING TO A SEX CLUB

Mynervesareaboutshot as our old world and new world are about to collide. Everlee says she’s fine, but she’s sitting beside Emmett at the table instead of at the head, which tells me she’s feeling insecure and that makes me want to take her away from here and erase all of those feelings. The plan is to meet Sammie and I assume her boy toy, David, or whatever his name is, at Bo’s to talk about the business. She’s going to bring us the financials since she took over along with memberships, projected future growth, and any immediate opportunities or causes for concern she sees. Then we’re all going to head to Allure and see for ourselves.

I’ve heard she’s added a few rooms and a bar. I like that, but I’m interested to see what Callum thinks. He was adamantly against it whenever we first opened, because he was scared of the liability and risk of someone getting sloshed and behaving in a way that would involve intervention.

I catch Everlee’s eye and give her a quick wink. She smiles back, but it doesn’t reach her eyes, so I nudge Emmett under the table with my foot and nod towards Everlee. He bends down and whispers something to her before kissing her on the neck, which makes her smile and blush. She looks at me knowingly, so I blow her a quick kiss and this time she smiles and means it.

Her eyes dart to the stairs as the click click click echoes and bounces around the walls. Sammie appears a moment later with her jet-black hair pulled back in a high ponytail, wearing a pair of tight leather pants, Louis Vuitton heels and an oversized crop top sweater. I continue to watch for Daniel. I think that’s his name, but he never comes.

“Oh, it’s just me tonight, boys.” Her gaze lands on Everlee and she smiles, “And Madame.” Her voice drops an octave in approval, and I don’t ignore Everlee’s sigh of relief. She walks behind us and takes a seat at the other end of the table; the one Everlee usually holds. She reaches to her right and grabs Everlee’s hand, and says in a slow and calculating tone. “This is an unexpected, but welcomed, surprise.”

Everlee looks around and her eyes land on Callum, clearly looking for guidance.

Callum sits up in his seat, leaning forward just a little. “Good evening, Sammie. I hope all is well.” She nods, sliding her hand off Everlee’s. “Everlee is with us and I can trust you to be discreet?”

“Of course,” she nods, then looks over at Everlee and mouths, “Well done.”

Everlee smiles, but I can tell she’s still uncomfortable, which makes me uncomfortable. I want to wrap her in my arms, then fuck away all her doubts and worries.

“So,” Sammie clasps her hands together, “How should we do this?”

Emmett speaks. “We will enjoy a nice dinner and then we’ll head to Allure. I assume the documents for review will be there?”

“Yes. Davis is finalizing them.”

Davis. A plain name. One I will probably forget again.
