“The one and only.”

“Seems like a charmer.”

“He could be. I fell for it at one point.”

Jax ran the back of his hand down my cheek affectionately, staring into my eyes, causing a tingle to stir in my core. I should not feel this way about him. With any of them. I should look at this for what it was. Sex.

“What are you doing here?” I asked, walking into the kitchen to grab a glass of water.

He looked around my living room and kitchen area. “Just wanted to check on you.”

I walked towards him. “Wanted to check on me?” I didn’t believe him.

“Good thing I did since the charmer was here.”

I pressed my hand into his chest. “I’ll have you know I don’t need you or any other man fighting my battles for me. I’m a capable woman.”

He looked down at my hand that hadn’t moved and I nearly stumbled backwards. “I’ve seen how capable you are.”

“Don’t you forget it.” I walked into the bedroom to flip the light off, but when I turned around, I walked smack into Jax’s chest.

“What was that?”

“What was what?” Shit. There was no way he saw my wall of boyfriends.

“On your shelf.”

“Nothing.” I threw my hand on the door frame of the bedroom.

He chuckled. “That was not nothing.”

Fuck. Shit. Mother ass. “Pretty sure it was nothing.”

He pushed past me with ease and flipped the light back on. “Oh, baby.” He said in a low and sultry voice.

“What? A girl has needs that need to be met.”

“Yes, she does and if that’s what you’ve been using… I mean, the green one is the only one that looks anywhere close to satisfying you, the others just look like they’d piss you off.”

He walked into the room. My room. My bedroom. And was looking at all my boyfriends like he was trying to solve the world’s toughest problem and here I was, following him around like a lost puppy. Not a lost puppy. Like a freaking horn dog.

“Do you need anyneedsmet right now?” He asked, turning to look at me.

“Gah- what?”

“Do you have anyneedsthat need to be met?” His hand brushed the hair behind my ears and I felt the energy in the room change.

“Are you offering?” What kind of question was that? I asked, beating myself up internally. “Is that… allowed?”

He chuckled. “Do you ask that of Callum?”

I puckered my lips at him. “Fair point.”

“So I’ll ask again… do you have needs?” His tone was low and gravelly, as his face inched closer to mine. I could feel his warm breath dancing across my face as I moved to close the gap between our kiss, scraping my teeth over my lip.

I nodded.

“You need to stop doing that.” He inched closer, his lips only a breath away.
