“Hi. I’m Lizzy. BFF of Everlee and apparent bad decision maker.”

He smiled. “How about a lift? I was headed there anyway.”

“You were?” Lizzy asked, bumping elbows with me.

“Yes. We’re having a team meeting there tonight.”

“What a kawinky-dink.” Lizzy teased.

Jax slowly turned around and pulled down the road. “I can drop you two at the front door, then park.”

“No.” Lizzy and I both jumped in.

“You don’t need to do that.” I added.

“Plus, this way you get to walk in with two beautiful ladies, one on each arm.” Lizzy said.

“That is true.” His gaze fixed on me in the rear-view mirror.

It had only been a day and a half since I’d seen Callum, but he was on my mind every hour of that day and a half. My poor BOB’s were getting the most use they’d had since… ever. Callum was a thirst I needed to quench and Jax was quickly moving up that list, too.

We were parked at Bo’s less than five minutes later.

Jax opened the car door for us and Lizzy was gushing about him being a gentleman. He offered us each an elbow, making a joke he looked better with us on his arms and I appreciated it. I felt like a million dollars when I was around him. Callum too. Maybe that’s what was adding to my thirst. It had been so long since I felt the slightest bit confident, but they… they all made me feel that way with just a look.

A doorman was waiting for us when we arrived. “Good evening Mr. McCall.” He looked at each of us with a furrowed brow. “Will they be dining with you?”

“No, I was escorting them in. They have a reservation at eight.”

“Yes. Ms. Everlee.”

“That’s me.” I held up my hand.

“Shall we wait for the others?”

“No. Lizzy jumped in. My boyfriend couldn’t make it and Everlee doesn’t have one.”

I shot her a glance.

And she shrugged, before winking.

The doorman, again confused, this time by Lizzy’s random statement about my love life, or lack thereof, directed us to the hostess stand.

“Good evening, Mr. McCall.” The woman said when we arrived, nearly melting in her spot. The man did know how to wear a pea coat. That was for sure.

“Good evening, Eliza.”

Such the charmer.

“The rest of your group is here at their table.” She said, directing her arm to the second level.

My eyes traveled up and standing on the edge, hands gripped around the rail, was Callum, wearing a button down blue shirt, under a black jacket and a pair of faded jeans. Holy fuck. And those eyes… my God. The blue shirt made them pop even more and right now they were penetrating into the depths of my soul. I felt my jaw fall open as my breathing changed.

“Damn.” Lizzy moaned, looking at him too.

“Your table is this way, Ms. Everlee.”

“Enjoy your meal, ladies.” Jax waved to us as he started his ascent up the wide spiral staircase.
