“Hey there.” I smiled.

“My buddy is having a party up in VIP and wants some hot girls up there. You want to go up? There are free drinks.”

“Yea!” Lizzy said, pumping her fist in the air.

I looked at her cautiously.

“Cool. My name is Mark.”

“Hi, Mark. I’m Lizzy and this is Everlee.” She leaned over and yelled into his ear.

“Everlee. That’s a cool name.”

“Thanks!” I smiled, cautiously. It always felt so weird having guys just walk up to you at the bar. I always felt guarded, which was probably why I haven’t found anyone since dickface. It could also be because I was looking in the wrong places.

“This will be fun!” Lizzy said.

Yeah. Fun for who? I was trying to avoid seeing them and now I was going to the place they would likely be.Are you really trying to avoid them, though? You came to the club they own, to not see them??Bertha asked, dancing in one of the cages with her trunk around a pole.

“Let’s do this!” I should just go find them, say hello and get this over with. We could still be friends. Be civil. It’s not like we dated for very long.

Long.

I had a memory of taking Callum’s long cock in my mouth while the other guys watched. Get it together Everlee!

We followed Mark to the set of stairs, where he thumbed over his shoulder, letting the bouncer know we were with him.

Once we were upstairs, there were streamers and balloons all over the place with two enormous balloons with the numbers three and five. I quickly scanned the floor, but still didn’t see any sign of the Callum, Jax, or Knox.

Lizzy grabbed my hand and gave it a gentle squeeze.

“Come to the dance floor. I’ll introduce you to the birthday boy!” Mark called out.

We followed him through the crowd to a man who was dancing with two other women. Mark tapped him on the shoulder. “Hey Rich. I brought two more up.”

I felt my stomach drop.

Rich turned around and standing in front of me was Dick.

Lizzy looked from me to Dick, back to me.

“Everlee?” He smiled, leaning forward to give me a hug.

I awkwardly accepted it, but didn’t return it. He moved to give Lizzy a hug, but she stiff armed him. “No, thanks.”

“You know them? Crazy!” Mark said, turning to go back downstairs.

“We can leave.” I offered.

“No. Don’t be silly. Stay! Drinks are free up here!” Dick said, smiling and dancing still.

I studied him for a minute, then turned to look at Lizzy.

She looked at him. “I will stay for the free drinks, but I’m not singing happy birthday to you.”

Dick chuckled. “That’s fair.” He turned to look at me. “You look good, Everlee.”

“She’s knows.” Lizzy barked back.
