“Huh.”

“See!” I throw my arms into the air. “They left us. Blocked us from their lives. Used us, made us fall for them, and then left,” I shout. Maybe I’m a little emotional and hormonal. But I might also be right.

“Are their things gone?” he asks.

“Well, no. But they could easily just buy new things.”

He raises a brow.

“What!”

“Or... maybe they’re not answering our calls because they’re working.”

“If that's the case, why would they turn their phones off? Pregnant Omega here. Hello! What if something bad happens?”

“Lexi, baby, I need you to calm down. You’re getting worked up. It’s not good for the baby. Let’s not overreact, okay?”

“Well, that went out the window five fucking minutes ago. I’m reacting, babe.” I storm over to my dresser and pull out a pair of leggings.

“What are you doing?”

“Getting dressed.” I change into a sweater, then grab a pair of fuzzy socks. I throw my hair into a messy bun, not bothering to brush it. There’s no time for that. “Get dressed,” I tell him.

“Okay, but for what?” he asks. I shoot him a scathing look, and he holds his hands up. “I’m getting dressed.”

While he dresses, I send a text message to my sister letting her know not to be alarmed if I’m not home. I’m not even sureshe’shome. There are a few cars missing from her driveway.

“You wanna tell me what we’re doing and where we’re going?”

“We’re going after them.” I toss him the truck keys. “You drive. I’m too worked up.”

He catches the keys. “Baby, we don’t even know where they went.”

I shove my coat and winter gear on, casting him another annoyed look. “You might think that I’ve been so great with all these changes, but you’re wrong. I overthink everything. I took precautions.” I pull up an app on my phone and show it to Emmett.

His eyes widen. “Did you put a tracker on their truck?"

“Damn fucking right I did. Now, let’s go find our Alphas so I can kill them,” I growl, throwing the front door open.

“Poor fools,” Emmett sighs, but he follows along.

Am I overreacting? Maybe. Do I care right now? Not really.

I’ve grown attached to those men, and I’ll be damned if they think they’re just going to get away from us that easily.

It’s eight hours later, and we’re pulling into some town in Utah. Why the hell are they here?

I can feel the tension rolling off Emmett. As soon as he saw where we were going, his whole body shut down.

It wasn’t until I worried about him for a good hour that I realized the location on the map is the place where Emmett was living before he came to Widows Peak. I told him we could turn back, but he said it was fine.

I know it’s not. I know he doesn’t want to be here. I feel like a horrible person for freaking out and demanding we come here in the first place.

We’re here now, and their location has been still for the past half hour.

Good. Last thing I want to do is drive all over town looking for them.

It’s not until we drive through the town and end up in an industrial area that I start to grow more cautious.
