“You two ready?” Lexi asks me.

“For his heat?” I look at Sloane. “I think so.”

“Good. Because it won’t just be him you’re dealing with. You think it’s bad when an Alpha and Omega are together when an Omega is in heat?” She snorts. “Try two Omegas together. Just be thankful we’re not in heat at the same time. At least we’re not throwing you headfirst into that one.”

“It’s our first heat,” Sloane says. “Not gonna lie, I’m kind of nervous.”

“Don’t be, you’re going to be fine. And I’ll do my best to help.”

“You’re going to take it easy,” I tell her. “Nothing to hurt the baby.”

“Yes, Papa Bear.” She rolls her eyes, but something about her calling me that has my cock perking up. “I’m going to go check on him, then get back to work.”

She gives us each a kiss before going to Emmett.

“You think he’s going to snap at her?” Sloane asks me.

“He wouldn’t dream of it,” I tell him, and my point is proven when Emmett sees Lexi. His scowling face shifts to one of adoration.

“Fuck,” Sloane breaths. “Seeing these two together is the best thing ever. Look how in love they are. They're each other's whole world. Not going to lie, I’m kind of jealous. I want them to look at us like that, too.”

“Soon.” I take Sloane’s hand. “We’ll get there. We need to earn it. He sure did.” I look back to our Omegas. Lexi gives him a kiss, saying something that has him nodding before she leaves.

He looks past her and over to us, locking eyes with me.

My cock thickens at his heated look, and I know for a fact this is going to be one crazy, but thrilling heat.

I can’t fucking wait.

Chapter 25

Lexi

The club has closed for the night, and I let Briar know we’re taking off, thanking her again for covering my shifts for the next few days.

Aiden and Sloane are waiting at the table they’ve been sitting at all night. I know they’ve been wanting to check on Emmett, but it seems our Omega gets a little moody when he’s about to go into heat.

I haven’t dealt with Emmett like this before. Now I understand why he leaves a day or two before his heat starts. He doesn’t want to get snippy with me.

And he hasn’t been. It seems like any time I’m the one to check on him, his scowl is gone, and he looks at me like I hung the moon. Not going to lie, it gets me every time.

The Alphas, on the other hand, get glares and snappy comebacks. However, they’re understanding, knowing that Emmett doesn’t mean anything by it.

“Hey.” I head into the staff room to grab my coat. “You ready to go?”

Emmett is sitting in one of the chairs, his head in his hands. My concern spikes. Kneeling down in front of him, I put my hands on his arms. “Baby, you okay?”

“No,” he groans. “Not really.”

I reach up and feel his forehead. “You’re burning up.”

“I know,” he sighs, looking down at me with tired eyes. “I don’t want you to see me like this. For them to see me like this.”

“Why not?” I rub his arms.

“Because there are three stages of my heat. Irritable and bitchy. Needy and desperate. Then, horny and feral.” He looks at me with helpless eyes, like he’s afraid I’m going to judge him.

“So, isn’t that like most Omegas?” I smile.
