Boyd's jaw clenched so hard as he began striding towards them. Then he watched in horror as Bella invited Tobias into the cottage.Watched as the blacksmith's face softened with affection.
Boyd's vision went red at the edges.
This was his wife. His Bella.Mine! And she was inviting another man into a secluded cottage.
The door closed behind them.
Something inside Boyd snapped with emotions he couldn't begin to name.
Rage.Betrayal.Jealousy so fierce it nearly brought him to his knees.
Boyd told himself to remain calm even as he stormed towards the front door.
Then, slowly, inexorably, his fury won out over everything else.
Right or not, Bella was his wife. The mother of his future children. The woman who owned his heart irrevocably.
Then, Boyd MacKinnon, otherwise known as the brutal and violent Monk, reached for the door handle with murder in his eyes.

Chapter 16
Boyd shoved the dooropen.
It crashed against the wall with a bang, and Boyd filled the doorway like an avenging angel, his chest heaving, his eyes blazing with fury.
"Bella!"
Inside the cozy interior, Bella jumped so violently she nearly dropped the water pot she'd been holding. Her head whipped around, eyes wide with shock.
Then, impossibly, inexplicably, her face spread into a smile.
"Boyd!"Her voice was warm, delighted."Ye're back!"
She actually looked happy to see him.Her eyes lit up, her whole face brightened, and for one disorienting moment Boyd felt the breath knocked from his lungs.
