There was a loud noise downstairs, and after a second, I realized it was Vail bursting through the front door. Laughter followed him inside, and I thought I heard a couple of people talking.

Rowen stared down into my face, and I held my breath.

“Sorry I wasted our time alone with this,” I murmured.

He shook his head and nudged my chin with his fingers. “I’m glad we had this chat because now I know where yer head is at. We both want the same things. Don’t worry that I don’t want to fuck ye, Fallon, because that’s just not true. And don’t fret about how long it takes us to get where we’re going. Vail was the exception to all my rules, and that had more to do with him than me. And ye know what I mean about him.”

Nodding, I nestled against his front and loved the way he ran his hands along my back.

“Hey, there you are! Do you want to come downstairs and play this game that Lor found? It’s called Tell Me Without Telling Me. It’s a fancy word game, but it will be fun. I already think I might win, but Lor is really good, or so Conall says.” Vail waved the black-and-white box all around as he charged through the door, and he was cute while bouncing on the tips of his toes. I didn’t know whose clothes he’d stolen after our soccer game earlier, but he was in jeans that were too long and almost covered his feet and a T-shirt that had a skeleton with all the bones labeled on the front. I’d thought he’d had a change of clothes at the mansion, but maybe I was wrong.

“Angel, I told ye this was Fallon’s night with me.” Rowen didn’t seem upset, though.

Vail switched to waving the box mostly in my direction while widening his big brown eyes at me, and I laughed. “Yeah, it sounds good. There’s Chinese food for you in the kitchen because we love you, even when we’re apart.” I blew him a kiss, and Rowen let out a happy hum.

Vail gasped. “You two are the best!” He flew across the room, then hugged me and Rowen, dropping the box.

Rowen ended up chuckling before he wriggled out of our three-way embrace to save the game.

“Get a shirt on,” he said to me with more than a little heat in his eyes.

“Oh, let him leave it off?” Vail asked, licking his bottom lip as he stared at me, then cut a quick glance toward Rowen. “Both of you?”

“No, angel. We have guests,” Rowen said, but there was no stern voice for Vail because Rowen liked to give him whatever he wanted too much. Rowen got a shirt for himself out of the dresser, and Vail snatched a blue one from Rowen’s hand and brought it over before helping me put it on. It would’ve been easier to dress alone, but with Vail as part of the effort I got a couple of sneaky kisses. He grinned until his nose wrinkled.

“Did you guys? Hm?” He wriggled around as I pulled the shirt the rest of the way down, then shook my head.

He smooched my cheek and his sad expression had me snickering.

“Och, my night!” Rowen said, waving a hand at Vail. “Shoo!”

“You can’t get all the kisses,” Vail said, then stuck his tongue out at Rowen.

All at once, I felt silly for the way I’d had a shit fit about what Rowen thought about me, especially when he came over to wrap me up in a hug again and turn his back to Vail, using his body as a shield.

Vail poked at his side.

Rowen winked at me, and Vail laughed while they pretended to fight over me, and I had nothing but warmth racing around in my insides. No, we weren’t fucking our way to an orgasm on that big bed, but in a lot of ways, this was just as good.

“Are we playing the game or what?” Conall yelled from the bottom of the stairs, and we all scrambled out the door because, even here, Conall was still the boss’s pet, and we always at least attempted not to irritate him.

ROWEN

HavingCillian and Aspen home was nice, though they commandeered Fallon’s and Vail’s attention quite quickly. I didn’t mind the quiet, but I missed having my guys to spend time with, too, and a vulnerable part of mewaslonely. Regardless of my feelings, I knew it would all go back to normal soon. Though, I couldn’t help but notice the tension between Cillian and Aspen.

They didn’t share our boys like usual.

The third night into their return, I was lying in bed alone, reading on my tablet, when a knock at the door interrupted me. I glanced up, surprised when Fallon opened the door and peeked his head in.

“Why did ye knock?” I frowned at him, laying the tablet at my side. “Ye know ye don’t need to do that.”

Fallon’s blond hair was wet, and his cheeks were flushed from what I assumed was the heat of a shower. He was naked except for a towel around his trim waist, and his abs glittered with droplets of water. The insulin pump wasn’t attached to his lower abdomen.

He licked his upper lip, chasing some water from it, then gave me a sweet smile. “We haven’t spent much time together since the guys got back from Miami.” He stepped into the room and closed the door, then walked toward me until his knees hit the edge of the bed. Laying a hand on my stomach, he lowered his lashes and stared at me from under them. The wee tease. “I thought we could change that. You know, we could—”

I shook my head, interrupting him. “No, rabbit. We’re not gonna do that tonight. Remember, we’re taking it slow.” I held out a hand to him, and he pouted.
