“And today we’re going to sleep more and spend the day in bed as I fuck you like the king you are.” He grinned and kissed my lips. “You’re so fucking gorgeous. Your ex was an idiot.”
I didn’t care about Chris. Judge had my full attention now. I grabbed his face and dragged him on top of me. Who cared about his parents? He could fuck me wherever he wanted.

Despite Judge’sinsistence that we could spend an entire day in bed, I couldn’t justify blowing off a full day of work, and we went to the law school campus after we ate lunch. I gathered what courage I had and walked to Dr. Hun’s office. She’d been quick to agree to meet me, so I was a little on edge because normally everyone tried to leave as early as possible on a Friday—even the supervisors.
A few students waved at me, and I smiled in return, holding my messenger bag strap tight across my shoulder. Luckily I’d taken all the things I needed to teach my classes with me when I’d gone to Judge’s house. I didn’t know where we’d go from here, though. We couldn’t stay with his parents forever, and I had to face Chris eventually.
When I reached Dr. Hun’s office, which was in the same building as the rest of us lowly instructors, I knocked on her door.
“Come in.”
I pushed open the door and smiled at her where she sat behind her desk. Her eyes widened when she saw me, and she stared contemplatively as I closed the door, flicking her ponytail off her shoulder as she sat straighter in her chair.
“Flynn. Are you better than you were this morning?” she asked kindly, but there was something else in her voice that had me frowning. It was as though she knew something I didn’t.
“Yes, I am, thank you. I wanted to talk to you.”
She hummed and brushed her bangs away from her face. “And I wanted to talk toyou. Sit down.” She waved at the chair in front of her desk, and I took it, falling into the seat. “I’ll go first.”
Fear crept up my spine at the way her eyes narrowed in betrayal. I couldn’t remember a day since I’d begun that she’d looked at me like that. She’d always been my closest confidant.
“We’ve had a couple of expensive research books go missing from the law library recently, a few that can’t be replaced because they’re out of print. The librarian was on a one-man mission to unearth them, and he convinced the security team to review the recordings in there,” she said carefully, watching me.
I swallowed, not quite sure what the situation had to do with me. “I understand.”
“I was informed of this.” She grabbed her open laptop, clicked around for a minute, and then turned it toward me. On the screen was a still picture of me bent over in front of the bookshelves, ass bare. Judge was on his knees behind me, face between my cheeks.
My breath left me in a gasp as I stared.
“There is, of course, video, but I’d rather not play it.” Dr. Hun crossed her legs and rested her hands in her lap. “Although earlier in the video I was able to identify your student, Judge Daughtler.”
I wanted to curl up and die from embarrassment. Never in my life had I made a sex video, too afraid it would somehow end up public, and yet I’d allowed this to happen at school. Now the security team had seen it, and so had Dr. Hun.
“I... fuck.” I rubbed my palm over my mouth, speechless. “I came here to tell you about my relationship with Judge. That is why I’m here.”
“Really?” She made a noise of disbelief. “A student, Flynn.A student.”
“There isn’t anything about relationships in the code of conduct,” I argued, feeling foolish. My face was so hot I was going to catch fire, and I tugged at my tie because it suddenly felt too tight.
“Because everyone knows teacher-and-student relationships are against protocol.” She shook her head and turned her laptop back around, smacking her finger against the touchpad, probably to close the image. “Is this because of Chris?”
“No.” I finally loosened my tie and sighed. “It has nothing to do with him. I like Judge. A lot.”
She shook her head and stood. “You need to make a choice, Flynn.” Her face twisted in discomfort, and I didn’t envy her for what she was facing as a supervisor right now. I’d done this to her. “Either you break up with Mr. Daughtler, or I’ll have no choice but to terminate your contract. I would argue this runs afoul of the ethics clause. It’s wrong.”
I studied her, but there was no lie in her stance. She’d do it because she believed she had no choice. “Okay.”
“Okay?” She frowned.
I stood as well, my knees wobbly. I wished Judge was here right now to support me. “I’ll go pack my office right now.”
“Flynn!” Dr. Hun slapped her hands down on the desk, more frazzled than I’d ever seen her. “Is a fling worth your career?”
I smiled sadly and leaned over to touch my hand on hers. “This isn’t a career, Marie.” It wasn’t often I called her by her first name, but this warranted it. “It’s a job. My career is in law, and I still have an up-to-date license to practice in New York. I have contacts. I can go back to being a full-time lawyer if I need to. And I will.”
She turned her hand over so she could grip mine, her lips downturned. “If you’re talking about Demchenko’s practice, you never enjoyed criminal defense.”
