Logan’s eyes danced in amusement. “I want to know what happened.”
Jake and I glanced at each other and started laughing until it hurt. Logan watched us until I could finally speak again. “Ainsley is Jake’s cousin. I don’t know how much he’s told you about his family, but he has a lot of cousins.”
“My mom had two sisters and two brothers, Dad has one. Each of them bred like rabbits. Ainsley is my Uncle Michael’s daughter. He’s one of the snooty types. He married a woman with money, and now he thinks he’s above us, so a couple of his kids got that attitude, too. Ainsley is one of them.”
Michael and his spoiled children were the only ones I didn’t like in Jake’s family. “Anyway, Ainsley hates coming to these things, but I think she’s looking at the big picture.”
Jake snorted. “The big picture being Nonna’s money after she goes. Ainsley is all about money.”
“And she has this rat of a dog. It’s a Chihuahua. Have you seen those types of dogs in real life? Rabid little things.” I curved my index fingers near my mouth, though I suspected that gesture was more for vampires than dogs, but it had Logan chuckling. “She dresses hers up in tutus and tiaras.”
Jake laughed so hard that he threw his head back and hit the headboard. He groaned, rubbing the area he’d knocked, then continued laughing. I shook my head at him and joined in, but this time I was chuckling at him, not with him.
Logan’s gaze darted between me and Jake, eyes sparkling and intrigued.
“So anyway, the last time the family got together for a dinner, I accidently called Ainsley’s dog a rat. Purely accidental.”
“It was not,” Jake grunted, nudging his shoulder with mine. “You did it on purpose when I told you not to.”
I didn’t deny the accusation because stirring Ainsley up was the highlight of the family dinners. She was an easy catch. “Soanyway, she screeches and goes on this tangent about how precious her Tinkerbell is—”
“There’s like a law where a Chihuahua has to be named Tinkerbell or something,” Jake interrupted with a grunt of laughter.
“—and her arms flail all over the place. I thought one of her fake fingernails would take my eyes out.”
“They nearly did.” Jake fell against my chest, mouth stretched in a wide grin. “I thought I was going to have to haul you to the hospital. Coach would never forgive me.”
I wouldn’t put it past Coach to give Jake a lecture, too. Being a professional sportsman meant there were things we were and weren’t allowed to do, and anything risky was on thedo not even attempt itlist. I snuggled in closer to Jake’s back and winked at Logan, making his smile widen.
“Tired, babe?” Jake murmured.
I nodded. “Coach pushed us hard today.”
“What’s it like being a professional hockey player?” Logan hesitated before he shifted closer to us. Jake opened his arms and dragged him against his chest so we were cuddled close together. My belly warmed, and I wrapped my arm around both of them. I stroked my finger down Logan’s cheek, and he sighed into my touch.
“It’s intense,” I admitted. “It’s all I’ve ever wanted to do, but it’s a lot of work. Eating healthy, training nearly every day, exercising, constantly being away from home. I think that’s the toughest part.” I laid a kiss on Jake’s cheek again, and he snuggled into me. “Leaving home. It can be for a few days, or even weeks at a time, depending on our schedule.”
“That sounds difficult,” he murmured, laying his cheek on Jake’s chest.
“It is, which is why I’m glad Jake will have you while I’m away. I want you to take care of each other for me.” I winked. “And video call me so I can see you together while I jerk off.”
Logan’s eyes darkened, and he swiped his tongue over his bottom lip. “Fuck.”
Jake shivered. “Say that again. Deeper.”
He swallowed, the apple in his throat jumping, and leaned in closer to Jake. I watched, entranced and unable to tear my eyes away from them. A flush of need went through me, but I tamped it down. My body was too sore to work up a hard-on, no matter how hot as hell they both were.
“Fuuuuck.” Logan dragged the word out and dropped his tone by a few notches, and even though the voice kink wasn’t mine, a tremble swept through me anyway, settling in my balls.
Jake grabbed Logan’s asscheek and hauled him closer until their crotches met in a hard grind. They both moaned, holding on to each other tighter.
“That’s what I want to see,” I murmured. “You’re so beautiful together.”
Logan’s lashes fluttered and he smiled at me. “You make me feel safe.”
“You are safe,” Jake whispered, and I nodded in agreement.
“You’ll always be safe with us, Logan. No one will hurt you here. Not your ex, or anyone you know, and not us.” I carded my fingers through his hair, scraping my nails over his scalp. He moaned again and leaned toward me.
