“Are you sure?” Morgan asked the doctor. “Is your prediction always accurate?”

She turned to me. “Did that hare give birth?”

“Yes. To twins. A boy and a girl.”

Dr. Pine winked. “Then I haven’t been wrong yet.”

“How many will Morgan have?” I asked.

She seemed amused. “One. But then again, that’s what you wanted, isn’t it?”

I didn’t even bother asking how she knew. The woman was magic, plain and simple.

“You’re back! How’d it go? You’re having one, right? Or do you still need to keep trying? Ooh, how many are you having? Can I help with names? If it’s more than one, can I pick a name? Or—”

Sage’s barrage of questions was cut off as Lupa slapped a paw over his mouth, then howled with wolf-puppy laughter.

Len chuckled as he held her. “Sorry, Sage.”

The whole pack was waiting for us in the grove. Since finding out the news, the world seemed brighter. The grass was greener, the sky was a brighter shade of blue, the water in the streams seemed cleaner and clearer.

But my mate was still the most gorgeous thing in existence.

“Well?” Hugo asked, his expression barely restrained from excitement.

Even Remington could barely stifle a big grin. If he was more obnoxious, like Sage, he might have blurted it out right away, but he was rightfully waiting for us to spill the beans.

Len, Hugo and Sage waited with bated breath. Lupa and Leveret, who didn’t know what was going on, simply seemed happy to see us return.

“You tell them,” I murmured in Morgan’s ear.

“All right…” He seemed nervous but excited as he faced the pack. “I… I’m pregnant. With Dax’s baby.”

The pack went nuts. They mobbed Morgan in the biggest group hug I’d ever seen—initiated by Sage, the king of group hugs, of course. I was dragged in and had to laugh about it. We really were a strange pack, but I wouldn’t change a thing about us.

And judging by the joyful sparkle in Morgan’s eyes, he wouldn’t either.
