Tate removes his helmet as well to reveal his dark hair sticking out in all different directions. I grin as I attempt to smooth it down. Time certainly hasn’t changed how attractive I find him; if anything, my attraction has only increased the more memories we make with each other.
He leans down and places a soft kiss against my lips.
It takes my breath away, and I have to hold it together. Hotel sex is for later. We have plans. It’s the first time we’ve been able to get away. It’s long overdue, but I don’t want to miss a second.
“Let’s get checked in,” Cash suggests, taking my hand and walking toward the hotel. “Pack Valor,” he states to the hostess once we reach the reception desk.
“Yes, I have you booked in one of our pack suites. One double king, is that correct?”
“Yes,” Cash confirms and pulls out his ID and credit card, handing it to the woman.
She’s professional, and I can tell everyone is grateful for that. The last thing I need to do is start this trip out with a jealousfiasco. We’d planned this trip, not realizing how close to my heat it would be, but we didn’t want to reschedule.
That doesn’t mean certain nesting behaviors aren’t plaguing me. I shove them down, though; we need this trip, and we’re planning on being home well before my heat actually starts.
The hostess hands Cash three room cards, and I try to not be offended. Of course, I won’t be roaming around without my pack, but damn, I should get my own fucking key card.
“Can we get one more card, please?” Cash asks.
He just gets it.God, I love him.If one of my Alphas got a reward for knowing what I needed at all times, he would absolutely be the recipient.
Cash hands me the card, and I hold on to it like it’s something precious. I suppose it is. I’ve never actually stayed at a hotel before. I’m in awe as we walk through the lobby, passing a counter with a sign that statesfree cookies.Axel grabs a handful, handing me one as soon as we get in the elevator.
“Are you excited for dinner?” Axel asks.
“Almost as excited as I am for the ghost tour,” I reply.
“We’re gonna have a great time,” my Beta says with a kiss to my head.
I’m so full of excitement I can hardly contain it as the elevator opens and we make our way down the hall to our suite.
Cash opens the door, and it’s gorgeous. I mean, I suppose I don’t have anything to compare it to, but the decor is a sharp white and deep purples. The bathroom is massive, but that doesn’t compare to the absolute obscenely large bed in the middle of the room.
“Holy shit,” I whisper.
Tate grabs me by the waist and flings me onto the mattress, making me giggle wildly. He grins and follows me onto the bed.
I love seeing him smile and how happy I make him. He’s not my sad Alpha anymore; he’s my strong one. He shoulders theweight of being the head Alpha of our pack and being president of the club with so much grace.
“You better stop lookin’ at me like that, darlin’, or we won’t leave this room,” Tate threatens.
“There’s no way that can happen. Muffuletta was promised to me, and I’m not touching anyone’s penis until one of those sandwiches is in my mouth.”
“That’s just mean, Lily,” Axel groans from where he stands by the window.
I shrug and let myself soak up the luxury that is this giant bed.
“We’re going to grab all of our shit so we can change and head out soon,” Cash says.
He leans down and kisses my cheek like he won’t be back in just a few short minutes. And of course, since he gave me a kiss, Axel follows up with one before they leave. They always kiss my cheek over my scar, though there really isn’t much of one anymore. I’m grateful for that, even though I know it’s there. It’s just nice not to have to see it every time I look in the mirror.
The hotel door clicks, and Tate’s hand comes up to cup the back of my neck.
“You like it?”
“I love it. This is great.”
“Good, I’m sorry it took so long,” he sighs, and I can see guilt rearing its ugly head.
