It’s a smaller house than the last open house I attended. The on goers are a little less stuck up and there’s no sound system to blast provocative sounds from.
“Maybe I should ask him?” Stevie says. Not a bad idea, he’s not likely to give me any information.
“Sure, we will call that plan A,” I say, and Stevie smirks at me.
I hide in the foyer as Stevie meets with Ryan in the living room.
“Stevie, hey. Are you looking for a new house? I don’t blame you for wanting to move out of Blair’s.”Dick.
“Yeah, honestly, living with her has been really tough lately.”
“Has she been crying nonstop?”
“Something like that,” Stevie says. Yeah, crying with passion from taking your dad’s giant demon cock.
“Well this is a three bedroom, two bath, new HVAC system.” Ryan starts listing off the features of the house.
“Actually, I was thinking about staying with my Aunt Josie for a while. Her phone isn’t working, and she sent me the address to her new place in North Point and I just haven’t been able to find it.”
“Oh, I can’t give out private information.”
“I understand. Oh, I just baked these chocolates. They’re to die for. Do you want one?” Stevie asks. I love my cousin.
“I’m trying to cut back, but those do look amazing.” He picks up the chocolate from the small container that Stevie brought. I’m not surprised he took it, he’s had plenty of Stevie’s baked goods before. “Damn, these are amazing.”
“Thanks, they’re a new recipe. I hate to ask again, but that address?”
“7867 Knuckle way,” he says, shaking his head, confused as to why he told her the address.
“Thanks, oh, and why did you cheat on Blair?”
“She intimidated me, and I wanted to feel like a man in control again.”
I roll my eyes. That’s what he thinks deep down. But I know the truth. He’s just a greedy asshole.
“That’s sad, Ryan. Wishing you the best. Not!” Stevie says as she meets me in the foyer and we dash to the car.
“Looks like we’re driving back to North Point,” I say.
“Looks that way,” Stevie replies.
Chapter 23
“Icanbarelyfeelhim,” Kas says when we portal back to the bungalow.
“What do you mean,feelhim?”
“Don’t be dense, we blood share,” she replies and I roll my eyes, wanting to burn the imagery out of my mind. I won’t lie and say that I didn’t enjoy giving Blair my blood. Even though she has no idea that it means that I can always sense her. I’ll tell her, eventually.
“What are you feeling?” I ask Kas.
“He’s weakened for sure. Not dead, well, as dead as a demon can get, anyway.”
We can be sent back to Hell, and our souls can be destroyed there. But here on Earth, there’s not much that can do a lot of damage. Our bodies heal. We can’t be exorcised when you have a corporeal body. There are some dark objects that can send you back to Hell. But they’re hard to come by. Most were confiscated and brought back to Hell a few centuries ago.
“Should we go to the club and see if anyone saw anything?”
Kas nods, gripping my forearm, and we portal back to the club. The event space doesn’t hold the same appeal as it did a few hours ago. Not when I had my cute little witch on my arm, under my palm and on top of my lap. I should let Kas handle this and crawl back into bed with her. I know she’s stressed about everything that happened tonight and it’s my job to take care of her.
