The look in Kas’ eyes is deadly though, and I need to make sure she doesn’t do anything crazy. There aren’t as many people in the club as there were earlier. It’s died down. Though the acts happening around us seem more intense than they were earlier in the night. Seems that later in the evening, the more sadistic the club goers get, I think it correlates to how many more vampires are now here.

I scan the dimmed space and see if there’s anyone I know. Luckily, I see Ronan, the Reaper, from earlier. He has a new sub tied up in the same standing position. This dude clearly has a lot of stamina.

“Ronan?”

“What?” he asks before he flogs the tiny blonde in front of us. She whimpers but pushes her ass back to his touch.

“Have you seen Asmodeus?”

“The annoying blonde? I’d whip him into good shape, that one. That boy wouldn’t have such a sharp tongue after I’m done with him.”

“Yeah, that’s the one.”

“The demon that was exorcised portaled out of the room with him.”

“Theywhat?” Kas asks from behind me. I swear I can see steam billowing from her ears.

“Don’t shoot the messenger,” Ronan responds, flogging the woman again.

“Any idea of the portal location?”

“Looked like a shitty bar,” Ronan replies.

“Eternal,” I say, looking at Kas then back to Ronan. “Thanks for your help, Ronan.”

“No, thank you for that beautiful show earlier. If she ever wants anyone else to play wi—”

My hands are around his throat. “Don’t finish that sentence.” I release his throat and he guffaws.

“I really don’t know how demons got this reputation of being the big bads of the supernatural world. You all are a bunch of lovesick puppies.”

“Whatever. Come on, Kas, I know where we need to go.” She doesn’t ask any questions as we portal to the shit hole bar I visited not that long ago.

“This place is disgusting,” Kas says as her red bottom shoe sticks to some sticky substance on the floorboards. “Why would she bring him here?”

“I have someone who might know,” I say, scanning the room, looking for the greasy fuck. “Beelzebub,” I whisper over to her.

“I hate that guy,” she says, lifting her shoe, inspecting the bottoms and groaning. “Is that Erlik?” Kas asks, pointing over to the Thor-like man in the corner. Erlik is too pretty for his own good. I’m really not sure how Lucifer matches the body to the soul. In this case, he got it right. Pretty on the outside, stupid as fuck on the inside. “You stay here. I’ll go talk to him.” I nod my head, wanting nothing to do with him. I’m going to kick Asmo’s ass when we find him. Taking away precious time I have with Blair. Instead, I’m at this smelly bar, trying to find out where some crazed demon has taken him. All he had to do was portal her to Hell, yet somehow she got the upper edge on him.

I can hear their conversation but don’t watch, not wanting to give myself away.

“Erlik, it’s been so long. How are you, sweetie?”

“Kasdeya? Looking beautiful as ever.”

“Aw, thanks doll,” Kas coos. “Listen, I’m kinda looking for someone. Have you seen Beelzebub or Asmodeus by chance?”

“Haven’t seen Asmodeus in decades, but Beelzebub was just here. He left like ten minutes ago. Buying some artifact off of some rich guy.”

“Any idea on who this rich guy might be?” Kas asks. I can tell she’s making her voice as sweet as possible, it’s probably a real challenge for her.

“Douglas, something? He was bragging about it. Said his boss is going to be so happy once he has the item.”

“Hmm, boss, as in, not Lucifer?” Kas asks. I can hear him shuffle uncomfortably in his seat.

“I mean, I’m sure it’s something freelance sanctioned by the lord.”

“Very well, we will keep this a secret between the two of us. What do you say, Erlik? I don’t tell Lucifer you didn’t turn in a traitor and you tell no one I was here tonight. How does that sound?”
