Stevie glares at me while she sits on my bed. “You haven’t been to Inferno before. You don’t know what you’re getting into.”

“What, and you have?” I ask. She looks away and her cheeks pinken. “Wait, you’ve been to a supernatural sex club, and you never told me?”

“You never liked Bianca, so yeah, I never told you. We used to go on Thursday nights. It was buy one, get one blood bags.” I grimace and stare at her. “You don’t understand, Blair. This isn’t just some club you can go to and watch and wait. If you don’t take part, you look suspicious. You know how paranoid supernaturals are of each other. Especially a witch hanging out with a bunch of fucking demons.”

“I can handle that,” I say, shrugging my shoulders. I never wear my hair like this, but I feel pretty cute, and I know Dax will enjoy it.

“I don’t like it, Blair. She sent a golem after you, Dax said that she’s possessing people and scrambling their brains. What if that’s her plan for you?”

“Dax won’t let anything happen to me,” I say.

“You barely know him,” Stevie replies, giving me an apologetic look.

“Stevie, have you ever known me to go into something head first like this? I don’t know what it is exactly about Dax, but it’s never felt like this. I feel safe and cherished around him. You know how powerful I am, and I’ll be with three demons who are Hecate knows how old. I promise I’ll be careful.”

She groans and scrubs her face. “I still don’t like it.”

“I know.”

“Did Dax talk to you about what you are going to do tonight?”

“He’s picking me up early so we can discuss it.”

“I swear to the moon and back, Blair. You better call me if you feel uncomfortable. I’ll come and pick you up right away.”

“Thanks, Stevie.” I walk over and wrap my arms around my cousin. Her poor face is crushed against my boobs since she’s sitting down and I’m standing up.

“Did I mention how fucking hot you look tonight?”

“No you hadn’t,” I say, pulling back from our hug and looking in the mirror. It’s a soft leather pleated skirt. I’m wearing a black lace thong and garter underneath. If I bend over, someone is going to get a view of my pale ass. Black sheer stockings cover my legs up to mid-thigh. The clasps connecting the stockings to my garter have skulls on them. It’s adorable. The top could be classified as a bra. It’s made of a more delicate lace material, it covers my nipples and crisscrosses around my chest and back. You can easily see the bulge of my piercings through the material. All it would take is one small tug and my boobs would pop out.

My makeup is delicate, just some winged eyeliner, foundation, and a nude lip. My hair is its usual untamed self, dark waves meeting my shoulders. But I put two small buns on each side, pushing my hair away from my face.

I feel beautiful and I know Dax is going to love the look. I already received Kas’ approval, and it’s clear that Stevie agrees too. One more time, I take a deep breath and look at myself in the mirror. Movement in the reflection catches my eye.

“What is it, Fez?” I ask my familiar as I walk over to his enclosure. He sadly doesn’t talk back, but I can feel his stress. “Everything is going to be fine tonight, baby,” I coo at him, giving him chin scratches as his top half wraps around my wrist.

“I think he’s just jealous there’s another man in your life. You never brought Ryan here,” Stevie says and I hum in agreement.

“Speaking of Ryan, any ideas on how to make him lose his memory of me?”

“It’s a bad idea, Blair. Interference with a human like that is going to get you in trouble with the council, no doubt.”

“That’s only if they find out.”

“Yeah, and if they find out, they might prohibit you from using your magic.”

I scoff and roll my eyes. “Losing my magic for a few weeks would be worth it.” The council can only do so much. The mere idea of losing magic is abhorrent to most witches, so they stay in line. Truthfully, I dare them to fucking try me. I’ve never heard of a witch’s magic actually being taken away. It seems like an empty threat.

“Wouldn’t it just be easier to tell Dax?”

“Uh, no. I think it would be easier to make Ryan forget me and continue whatever it is I have with Dax without having that hanging over my head.”

“I think he would understand, Blair.”

I shrug my shoulders, ignoring Stevie. What does she know, anyway? I swear Fez rolls his eyes at me as he slithers back into his terrarium, and I hear a light knock on the front door.

“Stevie, I promise I’ll call you if anything goes wrong. It will all be fine. You don’t have to worry.” She gets up from the bed and goes back to her room, irritated with me. “Oh, when’s the last time we fed Clover?”
