“Liv?”

“Cami?” She sounds like she’s been crying.

“What’s wrong, is everything all right?”

“Have you seen the countdown?” she says, sniffling.

“No, Smith and I have been sleeping since my heat. I can’t wait to tell you all about it.”

Liv cries and I can hear one of her men in the background. “It’s all right, baby, do you want me to talk to her?” Liv cries a little again and a male voice picks up the line. “Cami, this is Dean, Liv’s Alpha.”

“Is everything okay? Does she need me?”

“She’s fine. She wanted to call you to see if you were made aware of a countdown online.”

“No, I haven’t been on any social media since we got home.” My heart starts racing as I continue to listen to Dean over the phone.

“I’ll text you the link through Liv’s phone. My father is a lawyer, a great one. I will contact him as soon as we hang up to help, all right? We’re all here for you for whatever you need.”

“What are you talking about?”

“I’ll stay on the line. Just look at your texts,” Dean says.

I open the text message and click the link.

‘You saw the photos, ready for the videos? Watch Deja Fox in action on her knees. Releasing in three days, five hours, and twenty-two minutes.’

A sob bursts out of me, causing Smith to wake up. He looks ruffled and confused. I can hear Dean trying to talk through the phone, and I just can’t. I can’t go through this again.

“Cami, what’s wrong?” I shake my head and hand him the phone. He looks at the link and his eyes go wide. He finally sees that I’m on a call with Liv and starts to speak with Dean.

“Yes, call your dad and see what action we can take right away. Thank you. Okay,” I hear Smith say to Dean before he pulls me into his arms.

“I’m not going to let these fuckers take anything else from you, little star. We’re going to find out who is doing this and put a stop to it. I’m going to take care of you.” His hold on me is so tight, it actually helps calm me as I continue to cry.

“I…I just don’t understand why someone is doing this to me.”

“I’m not going to let it happen,” he says confidently.

“You don’t know that.” I sniffle against his shirt, drenching it in my tears.

“I know that you have me now, and no matter what happens, I’m going to be there for you. I also know I’m going to do whatever I can to get this taken down. I’m going to call Dom and see what he can figure out. I’m going to call the police to make them aware, and Dean’s dad is going to take legal action. You’re never going to be alone again, Cami. So many people care about you, and we’re all going to do everything we can to take care of you.”

I hold him tightly as I take in everything he’s saying. I’ve had my privacy violated already, and then I only had my mom. Now I have so many people who are supporting me and are going to help me get through this.

“Okay,” I say, and Smith kisses the side of my face.

“No sleep is going to happen, so let’s get up and face this head on, yeah?”

“Smith, I know you’re exhausted. You can sleep.”

He glares at me. “You expect me to sleep when you’re going through this? You’re crazy if you think I’m not going to get you through this. Get up, let’s make some calls and let’s find out who is doing this.” I nod and go to stand up and he pulls me tightly one more time. “I’m not going to let anything happen to you, bonded.”

Somehow at four in the morning, we were able to contact everyone we thought necessary. It’s only eight a.m., but our apartment is filled with our friends. Liv and her pack, Kelsey and Smith’s boss Dom, Franklin, and Garth are walking through the door now.

“Cami, I’m so sorry this is happening again. We’ll get to the bottom of it,” Garth promises me.

“I just don’t understand why someone would do this,” I tell him.
