After following Kateri upstairs and she kissed me, the goal changed and I don’t know how or why. I had to find out the type of person Kateri was and fucked around and fell in love. Killing her was no longer and option and she had to be protected at all costs. Now here we were having a staring contest because she learned Victoria was here. It brought me back to how she ended up here and not dead like her family.

“What do you want me to do with her?” Rosalina asked. She stayed behind to make sure the fire chief was told how to handle the situation at the church.

“Take her to the spot.” I heard my sister giving out the command on where to take Victoria and let her know that we would speak soon.

After getting rid of Glenn, I went home to shower with intentions of going to bed. However Victoria was heavy on my mind so I got dressed and drove myself to the spot. Once I got inside, she turned around looking pitiful. Still dressed in the wedding gown drenched in blood, her eyes were bloodshot red, and I’m not gonna lie, it hurt me in a way to see her that way. But then I’d remember why she was there in the first place and pushed that hurt to the side.

“Why Cairo? You could’ve just killed me.” Pulling up one of the chairs, I sat in front of her. She posed no threat to me and being fearful of her would never happen.

“Killing you was too easy Victoria and you knew that.” I lit a cigar in front of her. It wasn’t my favorite and I did it because she hated the smell.

“You also knew the repercussions of fucking me over.” Blowing smoke directly in her face, she fanned it away.

“Their deaths was always in your hands and you chose to say fuck them. If there’s anyone to blame, let it be yourself.” She sat against the wall with her knees to her chest.

“I came here to say my last words because after today you’ll never see me again.” I needed to get certain things off my chest with her. I was dead serious about never coming here for her again.

“I deserved for you to step out, shit, you could’ve left me and I would’ve understood.” She didn’t say anything.

“Where you fucked up was sleeping with someone on my payroll. So not only did you get your family killed, you got his family murdered as well. That’s pretty selfish of the both of you, don’t you think.”

“Whatever Cairo. No matter who it was that I slept with, they still would have met their maker.”

“Be that as it may, your family would still be here and that baby you’re about to lose, won’t ever be born.” She grabbed her stomach.

“I loved you, Victoria the best I could or should I say, the way I knew how.” Sucking her teeth and rolling her eyes, she waved me off.

“I did. It wasn’t right for me to sleep around but I never slept with anyone unprotected. I couldn’t allow a woman to say she was carrying my child before my woman or soon to be wife. But you.” I shook my head in utter disgust.

“You let that nigga run up in you raw from the start.” I’m not sure if it were the case but in my head it was.

“Cairo.” Not wanting to hear any excuses, I continued.

“It’s all in the past now. I’m just here to let you know that your body will rot in here.” I stood to leave.

“Cairo please don’t do this.”

“You will be fed, there’s a shower in the corner, a toilet, once a week you will be moved into a separate room for the space to be cleaned out.” She ran over to grab my waist as I headed to the door.

“Oh, the food you ate an hour ago had medicine in it to make sure that baby doesn’t live. And if you didn’t eat it, I made sure to have it placed in the water bottle that you seemed to have drank all of.” I pointed to it on the floor.

“Cairo I’ll do anything. Please don’t leave me here.” I turned and lifted her head. She needed to see how serious I was.

“As bad as I wanted to kill you, I didn’t because of how much I did love you.” Using my thumb to wipe the tears streaming down her face.

“After a few months, the person cleaning this area will stop coming so regular. Every week will turn to every other week. Then, monthly and every other month. Then every few months and well, you get the drift. So if I were you, I would start thinking of ways to make this your home sweet home.” I had to laugh. I wanted to make one more statement so she knew this was forever and not until I calmed down.

“But make no mistake Victoria.” I smiled.

“You will never see the light of day again.” Pushing her away, I walked out, locked the door and that was the last time our eyes met until this very moment.

“Cairo why is Victoria down here and when was the last time she ate or washed?” I shrugged. Food was dispensed to her four times a week and eventually it would be less and less.

“To be honest, I thought she’d be dead by now. I guess once the food stops she’ll go.” Nonchalantly speaking, Felix shook his head.

“Victoria can you hear me? Victoria.” Kateri patted her face to wake up. When she lifted her head and saw my girl standing there, it was like the exorcist came out.

“WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS BITCH DOING HERE? GET HER AWAY FROM ME!” I pulled Kateri away. Victoria jumped out the chair and tried to fight her. It was actually pretty funny because she could barely move and reminded me of Pookie in New Jack City. I couldn’t wait to tell Raul. He’ll probably be mad he wasn’t here to act out one of those scenes.
