“Stop!” Jackson ordered, his Alpha power flooding the room.

Forced to submit, Colton froze, tilting his head as his wolf howled in pain. “Jackson, please let me go,” he pleaded.

“Colton, listen to me!” Jackson said, lessening the power holding his brother in thrall. “Mac needs to operate to save the pups. He needs you to help but I can’t let you go if your wolf isn’t under control.”

Closing his eyes, Colton knew his brother was right. If there was a chance his wolf would attack Mac, then he couldn’t be in the operating room with him. But if he wasn’t there to assist, there was a very real possibility one or more pups might die. Turning to his Alpha, he said, “Bind my wolf to yours. It’s the only way…the only safe way for me to help Mac.”

Shaking his head, Jackson replied, “Colton, no…it’s too risky for your wolf.”

“Do it,” Colton shouted. “I can’t risk not being there to help Mac if he runs into trouble! Jackson, pleeease…would you do anything less if that was the only way to save Daniel?”

His eyes filling with tears, Jackson knew his brother was right. He would give his life for his son, no matter the cost. Nodding reluctantly, he shut his eyes, calling on his Alpha power to seize control of Colton’s wolf. Once it was done, he slowly opened his eyes, knowing the cries coming from his brother’s wolf would be with him for a long time. “It’s done. Go!” Jackson said. “And Colton…hurry.”

“Go get Ian’s parents,” Colton called out as he tore out of the room. Skipping down three steps at a time, he raced toward his mate. “Hang on, babe, I’m coming!”

When Dylon arrived with Ian at the operating room, he saw Mac standing next to the operating table. Moving slowly over to it, he gently laid an unconscious Ian down on it. “I think he fainted.”

“I’ll take it from here,” Mac murmured, stripping off Ian’s clothes. “Make sure no one comes in here.”

“Will do,” Dylon muttered, backing up towards the door. “Are they going to be okay?”

“I hope so…” Mac murmured as he inserted an IV drip.

Bursting into the room, Colton suddenly found himself in a head lock. “Let me go!”

“Can’t, Mac said no one can come in here and that means you too,” Dylon growled.

A sound of frustration erupted from Colton. “Mac, listen to me…Jackson bound my wolf to his so he’s not a danger to anyone.”

“What the fuck, Colton? Are you crazy?” Dylon growled, tightening his arm around his neck.

“Let him go, Dylon,” Mac ordered. Staring intently at Colton, he added, “Go scrub up and make it fast.” Pushing aside the dread now filling him, Mac realized everything just became worse.
