These men are a part of a biker gang like the Savage Knights. Only… I think these bikers are the true evil monsters. After everything Bones told me about his brothers, I know the Savage Knights are good men. And they wouldn’t hurt me. But these evil snakes will. I can feel it.
“Boss!” Someone comes barging through the door, shouting, “They’re coming.”
The monster who still has his clutches in my hair growls, yanking me to him, pointing a gun at my head.
“You tell them they better lay down the weapons before they enter; otherwise, I’ll put a bullet in her.”
My nerves are going haywire. The rumble of motorcycles coming from outside is growing louder, like an army brigade. It has to be the Savage Knights. Bones has come for me. He’s going to save me from these snakes.
Heavy footsteps approach from outside, and then he appears in all of his dominant stature, looking like he’s going to burn this place down. His eyes come right to me and he lets out a snarl, looking way more dangerous than the monster who has me.
“You better get your hands off my woman before I slaughter every single one of you.”
The chamber clicks on the gun, and I let out a squeal.
“And what makes you think you can come into our house and make your threats? Do you want the girl to die?”
Bones cracks his neck and the pulse at his jaw starts to tick.
“You’re going to let her go, or that video of yours, the one with you taking Johnson’s life, will be on the six o’clock news.”
His grip in my hair tightens. He doesn’t like that. But he doesn’t let me go.
“If that video airs, it won’t just be her life we’ll be taking. Now, all you have to do is get Pritchard to back out of the race, and we’ll hand her over.”
Bones’s jaw clenches even tighter. He might burst a vein if he doesn’t unlock it.
“You’re not in the position to be calling the shots, Vicious. It was a big mistake for you to store all of your account information online, along with your passwords.”
His grip on me tightens even more. The stinging pain at my scalp is making my eyes water, but I refuse to scream.
“Now, you’re going to let the girl go, or you will never see a penny of your money again. Not that it will matter because you’ll be sitting on death row waiting your turn to meet your maker.”
“Grok, check the accounts,” the monster orders.
The big guy who brought me here pulls out his phone. I watch as he types. His shoulders tensing as the seconds tick by. His jaw getting tighter as his eyes narrow in on the screen. He finally stops and looks up, swallowing hard.
“You motherfuckers,” the one holding me cusses. “You’re going to give every dime back.”
“Not until you give me my girl. You hand her over and I’ll make one deposit. You keep your guns holstered while we leave, I’ll make another. And if you want the rest, you’re going to make sure you leave Pritchard and his daughter the fuck alone. Otherwise, this club will be burned to the ground, and money will be the least of your problems.”
“Give me half now, and I’ll hand her over.”
Bones pulls out his phone and clicks away. The snake holding me turns toward Grok.
“It’s not even close to half.”
“Like I said,” Bones states. “You’re not the one calling the shots. I want her outside with my men, then you’ll get your half.”
Begrudgingly, the snake shoves me forward. “Fine. Take your little whore. Now give me my fucking money.
I rush to Bones and cling to his chest. His big arms wrap me tight. “Are you okay, baby? Did they touch you?” I shake my head as the tears rock through me. “Listen to me, angel. I need to finish up here, okay? Which means I need you to walk outside and leave with your dad.”
“But what about you?”
“I’ll be fine. Don’t worry about me. Now, go on outside with Scar.”
I peek around Bones and see the man standing at his back. The one with the scar across his face.
