Sandra appeared beside Tasha and looked uncomfortable as she seemed to be ready to say something, yet said nothing.
“Are you alright?” asked Tasha concerned.
“There’s someone here to see you, Sara, Lizzie’s mom.”
“Oh, where is she?” Tasha was confused by this unexpected happening.
“In the hall. She wouldn’t come through until she knew you were happy to see her. She’s acting odd again like yesterday.” Sandra looked and sounded uncomfortable to even be having this conversation.
Tasha frowned. “Show her through then. In fact, let me.”
Sara stood by the front door and as Tasha smiled at her, the other woman looked uncomfortable. “Sara, come through. Would you like a drink?”
“Erm, coffee I guess.” She reluctantly followed her.
Tasha and Sandra exchanged a confused expression as she entered the kitchen and began to make coffee.
“Could we talk somewhere more private?” asked Sara although Sandra had now left the room.
“Where?” Tasha asked confused.
“Maybe Jim’s office or the formal lounge or outside,” suggested Sara.
Tasha stared at her before pouring the coffee and thought she had never been in the formal lounge so may feel uncomfortable herself, the office seemed wrong, it wasn’t her space, so outside it was.
She passed Sara her coffee. “Biscuit? Cake?”
“The cake is gorgeous, Tasha baked it for Daddy last night,” said Lizzie who had silently appeared behind them with Danielle. Both of them looked tired but relaxed in their tiny shorts and vests.
