“What the fuck does she mean by that? What is her problem? I think I know the answer to that one.” He ran his hands through his hair before they crossed across his chest and although Tasha wanted to hear what he said she was momentarily distracted by the sight of his strong and muscular arms sitting across his broad chest.

“Lenny?”

Jim nodded. “He’s been less than transparent in his tax returns and the IRS seem to have discovered this, so it was in my capacity as an accountant that he wanted to speak to me this morning. Sara is pissed because she may have to return to work part time to help him out of the hole he’s dug.”

“Sandra wasn’t sure whether she was warning me off or just warning me.”

“Well, whatever she was doing you should know that Sara and I are very much old news and I have no interest in her, not like that, and I don’t think she has any interest in me either. You should reply to your messages. I’ll be about another half an hour or so,” he said and headed back towards his office.

When he returned about an hour later Tasha had replied to Sara’s messages and assured her that she had not been offended by her comments.

“What are you up to?” Jim wrapped his arms around her as she loaded the dishwasher.

“A surprise,” she replied. ”And if you close your eyes I’ll show you.”

Jim immediately closed his eyes as Tasha turned the light off and began singing happy birthday. When he opened his eyes he smiled at her warmly before blowing out the candles on the cake she’d baked for him.

“More hidden talents, Miss Winters.” He dipped his finger into the frosting and ate it. “This is good.” He sounded surprised by her cooking once more as he scooped more frosting onto his finger and offered it to her.

She eyed him playfully, but accepted the frosting from his finger, drawing his finger into her mouth deeply and sucked and nipped at it before she swirled her tongue around the tip.

He freed his finger from her mouth as one hand disappeared into her hair. He pulled her head back while his other hand was on her bottom and pulled her to him then his mouth was on hers and his tongue was in her mouth, devouring her, claiming her as his once more.

A scream from the hall startled them both.

Jim went to see what was happening and found Lizzie and Danielle looking at something on their phones. He reappeared with the girls. “Would either of you like birthday cake? It seems Tasha bakes, too.”

“Wow, that looks awesome, Tash.” Lizzie accepted the cake Jim had cut for her and her friend. “This frosting is something else,” exclaimed Lizzie as she tucked in.

“You are so right there.” Jim wore a large salacious grin that revealed a dark and hungry desire for Tasha.

Chapter 8

It was after midnight before the girls had actually gone to bed, but as Tasha climbed between her owns sheets she could still hear them giggling which made her laugh. Jim came in shaking his head.

“What?” asked Tasha.

“I am so glad I don’t have two teenage daughters living in my house.”

“You mean you wouldn’t like the sound of hysterical laughter ringing around the house til the early hours every weekend?” she asked with mock surprise.

He laughed. “Strange, I know, but that doesn’t appeal to me at all, Natasha.”

“Then what does appeal to you, James?” She stretched out and jumped with the speed with which Jim appeared above her, all over her.

“I think we both know the answer to that, baby.” He kissed her so firmly that it almost hurt.

She smiled inwardly, he was back, James, Mr Control Freak himself, in charge, powerful and she was loving it, loving him.

Jim had left for work and Lizzie and Danielle were still in bed which was not all that surprising as at five a.m. they had still been giggling. Tasha smiled and hoped Lizzie and Pippa would get along, but possibly not giggle all night. She wondered where Dan would fit into this, if he would fit in here. Thinking about it caused a frown to form. She’d worried about Pippa’s safety when she was at home, but since leaving she was more worried about Dan. Maybe that was because Deb was in his life now, and she couldn’t completely trust her because of Kara. She jumped as her phone beeped.

She laughed at the brief message and replied.
