I peered at her over Eve’s shoulder as she adjusted the train of her wedding dress.

I smirked. “You look beautiful, Liv. Jack will be reduced to tears the moment he sees you. But if he’s not, can you whisper something super sappy to him once you get down the aisle? I sort of have a bet going with some of the guys on how long it takes Jack to cry today.”

She laughed. “Sure, as long as I get half of whatever you’re betting.”

“Deal.”

“Placing bets on your best friend’s wedding day? Is nothing sacred to you?” Eve tsked.

I glanced down, noting the playful turn of her lips.Maybe my moment as her knight in shining armor yesterday had endeared her to me a little more.

“Hey, I’m just the best man. You heard Liv. She’s totally on board with this as long as she gets half.”

I walked down the hall surroundedby clouds of satin and tulle, the women leaving the scent of hairspray in our wake.

The wedding planner accosted us as we reached the big double doors that opened into the room where the ceremony was being held, urging everyone to their places.

“Line up. Line up. Line up,” she said, patting her leg like we were dogs she was bringing to heel.

I took my place next to Eve, who was watching the wedding planner snap her fingers at Jameson while he glowered at her and moved to his place in line.

“Do you think she’ll try whistling at us next?” Eve whispered, making me bark out a laugh, which I quickly turned into acough when the wedding planner spun our way.

I grabbed Eve’s hips, shifting her to my other side before she got scolded for being in the wrong place. My fingers slid over the satin of her dress, lingering at her waist. Her eyes locked on mine, and I got lost in them for a brief moment, realizing that the hate that had burned behind them before was blissfully absent today.

It felt like the moment between us was suspended in time as “Wildest Dreams”by Taylor Swift began playing over the speakers. The heads in the crowd turned toward the double doors opening in front of us. I offered her my arm and leaned down, whispering in her ear, “You look gorgeous today.”

I was sure I’d remember exactly what she looked like today when I had my dick in my hand later. She was always beautiful, but today she glowed.

I watched her cheek tic up as she smiled and took my proffered arm. “Thanks, O’Connor. You don’t look too shabby yourself.”

I’d never stopped wanting this woman. She was the stuff of my wildest wet dreams.

The line moved forward, and Eve glanced back at Olivia, mouthing words I couldn’t decipher.

When it was our turn to walk down the aisle, I kept my eyes forward. The only place our bodies were touching was where our arms were laced together, but I felt that searing point of contact between us, and I didn’t want to let go. It was a tether, keeping me grounded as my head spun with thoughts about Eve that were more than friendly.

We reached the end of the aisle and I reluctantly let go of Eve, giving Jack a back-slapping hug before moving to stand next to him.

While the crowd rose and all eyes turned to Olivia, mine stayed on the maid of honor. I couldn’t look away if I wanted to. Not even to glance Jack’s direction to see if I’d won the bet.

Eve was mesmerizing. We’d been dancing around each other for months, and now that she wasn’t looking at me like she wanted to slit my throat, all I wanted was to spend a night getting lost in her.

I realized she might not want that. She still might not trust me enough to be with me like that. I wasn’t usually a patient man. But for her? I could wait. I could take my time, be charming, hold back until she told me she wanted it.

Something told me that when Eve came around, she would be worth the months-long wait.

If All Else Fails, Use Your Boobs

Eve

JackandOlivia’sweddingwas beautiful. The food was delicious; the decorations were gorgeous, and the alcohol was flowing. Their love was disgustingly evident to everyone in attendance.

The whole thing made me feel a little lonely, to be honest. I’d been single for longer than I cared to admit. Sure, I brought men home. I wasn’t a nun. But none of them fulfilled any of my needs, and I was tired of my vibrator being the closest thing to a committed relationship I had.

Hell, at this point I didn’t need commitment. I’d be happy with an orgasm or two.

“I’ve decided who your next bang should be,” Brian announced as we danced together, startling me from my thoughts.
