He laughed softly. “It’s gonna be fine, princess. I’ll go pick it up from your place. Is Brian still there, or do I need to pick up the key from him at work?”
“Oh my God. Thank you,” I cried. “He’s there for another thirty minutes.”
“I’m gonna be late to rehearsal for this so you’d better cover for me,” he said with a sigh.
“Of course!”
“I’ll see you in a bit.”
I let out an unsteady breath, finally letting the stress drain out of my system.
“Where the hell is my best man?” Jack grumbled, pacing the front of the room where the ceremony would take place. “He’s thirty minutes late.”
“He’s on his way,” I reassured him. “I asked him to pick something up for me. It’s my fault he’s late. He’ll be here any minute.”
Olivia arched a brow at me, and I avoided her gaze, taking a sudden interest in my nails.
The wedding planner glowered from her seat in the back. “We aren’t going to wait forever. I have a schedule to keep. Let’s start without him and hope he’s not tardy for the big day tomorrow, hm?”
Ben chose that moment to enter through the large double doors, hands empty.
I shot out of my chair, pushing him back through the swinging doors. “Where is it?” I hissed.
“Don’t worry, princess. I asked the concierge to put it in the Bridal Suite. It’s in the room, safe and sound, and in one piece.”
I threw my arms around his neck. “Gracias a Dios.Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”
He froze, surprised by my exuberance, and then slowly looped his hands around my waist.
“If that’s all it takes to get this kind of reaction from you, then you should forget things more often.”
I shook my head, relieved tears slipping past my lashes. “Thank you for fixing my giant fuck up.”
“Anytime, princess. It’ll be our little secret, yeah?”
“Yeah,” I agreed, swiping at a stray tear.
The wedding planner pushed through the swinging doors. “We are getting started, with or without you.”
Ben offered me his arm, and I took it, flooded with gratitude and a little too much affection to be safe.
The Stuff Of My Wildest Wet Dreams
Ben
Iknockedonthedoor where the girls were getting ready for the wedding, eager to tell them it was time to get this show on the road. However, when Eve opened the door in a blush dress that clung to her curves with her hair down in waves, the words got stuck in my throat.
She was stunning.
I stared at her full lips, recalling how close I’d come to kissing her the other night. I wondered what would have happened if I had, if maybe we would have found a secluded spot on that yacht and I’d have kissed her until her lips were puffy, pressing her into the wall and yanking that tiny red dress up so I could—
“Did you need something, O’Connor?” Eve arched a perfect dark brow at me.
I cleared my throat, suddenly remembering why I was here.
“We’re all set. It’s time to get the two lovebirds hitched.”
“Thank God.” Olivia let out a relieved sigh. “Waiting around is the worst. It’s fraying my nerves.”
