“I have no idea. For one, I’m not about to go to the house right now with Dawn over there. She already knows enough as it is. I’d rather talk to Ava alone than to address this all in front of her sister.”

“I feel you on that. Well, you’re welcome to come over here for as long as you need.”

“Thanks, T, I appreciate that. Thank God you’re not at work.”

“I actually just got off this morning. I’m off until Monday.”

“Shit, tonight, Ava and I were supposed to be having a date night. I can take an educated guess that that shit ain’t about to happen.”

“Nope, probably not.”

“Fuck! I can’t believe this shit! I’m about to pull up to your crib now. See you when I get there.”

Hanging up with Tate, I parked my car in front of his house then went to his door. I was so grateful that he was at home because otherwise, I would’ve had to put money on a hotel room. There was no way in hell I was going back to the house with Dawn’s ass there. Hopefully, she’d be leaving soon though because I needed to work in the morning, and I wanted to talk this over with Ava instead of worrying about it and leaving it the way that it was now.

AVA

One week later

“Good morning, sis, how you feeling?” Dawn asked, yawning at the same time.

“Hey, I’m okay. How are you?” I asked, standing in Dawn’s bedroom doorway.

Me and Bully had been staying at her house ever since I caught Justin at Shane’s house.

“My first two appointments canceled on me, so I’ma lay like broccoli for another hour or two.”

“Lucky you. I’m anxious to get my day started. I only work a half day today because I have an appointment to see that divorce lawyer.” I said, walking up to her dresser then checking my hair in the mirror.

I smelled the different perfumes she had laid out on her dresser, then picked up a bottle of Gucci Bamboo and sprayed a little on my neck and wrists.

“I’m so glad you’re still going through with the divorce. I still can’t believe those two idiots. You need to start taking heed a little more to what I be sayin’. When I get a bad feeling about someone, I’m usually on point. My intuition don’t be playin’ no games.”

“Shit, you can’t believe them! How you think I feel?”

“I’m just saying. Had you listened you wouldn’t be going through this wild ass shit.”

“I hear you and I do listen. I just think it’s your delivery. You be so adamant about shit and the way you be sayin’ stuff sometimes, you be doin’ the most.”

“Yeah, but you know me and you know how I am. I like to give it straight up no chaser. I don’t be havin’ time for the bullshit at all. Your hair is super cute today. I did a damn good job on that silk wrap this time.”

“Yeah, you did. You the best at what you do for sure.”

“Thanks, boo. Now, if you start listening to my advice more, your life will be much more peaceful. I promise.”

“Oh, lawd, let me head to work before you get started. Are you taking Bully to the shop with you today or leaving him here?” I asked.

“Shit, I’ma take his little ass with me. I ain’t leavin’ that dog here alone so he can tear up my house!” Dawn expressed.

“Oh, stop it! He’s not that bad, he’s just a puppy.”

“He’s just a puppy my ass! That damn dog worse than a pack of two-year-old kids. His ass gets into every damn thing with his spoiled self!”

“I’ll call you and keep you updated on what the lawyer says.”

“Ok, cool. Love you!”

“Love you, too!” I responded then gathered my things so I could head to work.
