Everyone rose from their chairs, including Beckett’s marketing team.
“All right, we have our list to follow up,” Sonia said.
To be fair, they didn’t have too many things to take care of at this point —that’s why they’d outsourced this to our agency.
“Perfect! That was all,” I said to no one in particular.
Beckett cleared his throat. “Can you stay a moment? I want to clear some things up.”
“Of course,” I said.
Was it my imagination, or did Anthony snicker? Wait, he actually exchanged a glance with Zachary. And Chad seemed to be fighting a smile. Xander was the only one who didn’t react in any way. After bidding us goodbye, he simply left.
Huh. The rest of the brothers were in on this, I was sure of it.
As they left the room, Sonia looked at Beckett. “You need us to stay too?”
He shook his head. “No. Not at all.”
“Are you two going to talk budgets again?” Sonia smiled at me. “Good luck.”
“Yes. Budgets. That’s it,” Beckett replied.
Judging by the spark in his eyes, that was the very last thing on his mind.
Sonia was the last one out and closed the door after her. Once we were alone, I cleared my throat and tilted my head.
“Mr. LeBlanc, what exactly do you want to discuss about the budget?”
He growled, coming closer. And then he kissed me.Oh, yeah.He deepened the kiss, pressing me into the table until the edge almost cut into my ass. I loved being trapped by this sexy man.
He paused when we were both out of breath and took a big step back.
“Fuck, I wanted to do that in front of everyone.”
I giggled, putting a hand on my mouth. “That would be a statement.”
“I could barely pay attention.”
I gasped. “Beckett, this was important.”
“Don’t worry. My brothers were here. If anything was wrong, they would’ve had no qualms about pointing it out.”
“Especially Xander!” I laughed. “Even though he’s a hard-ass, I like him.”
Beckett cocked a brow.
“Not more than you, obviously,” I added hastily.
What was with him today? He was acting a bit strange. Almost territorial.
“Do you have to go back to the office right now?” he asked.
“No. I was going to grab something to eat in the Quarter.”
“Let’s go together.”
“Business lunch?”
