“My head,” I said as I slowly sat up with my hand on my throbbing head. My brain felt like it was about to explode. I’d never had a headache like the one I was having right now.

“Are you okay?” I recognized Halo’s voice. For whatever reason, hearing her voice pissed me off. I wanted Kenzo, not Halo.

“No,” I snapped unintentionally before dropping my head into my hands. I massaged my head, trying to alleviate some of the pain. Slowly, my headache was subsiding.

“I can go to my Healing office to get you some medicine,” Halo offered, unbothered by me snapping at her.

“No, no, no. My headache is getting better. Where is Kenzo?” I asked as I lifted my head to look at Halo. Today, she was dressed simply in a black fitted maxi dress.

“Minnie and Tiny asked them to get everyone together, and with all the kids, it takes a while to get everyone together. Trust me. He didn’t want to leave your side, but Minnie pretty much made him.”

Halo chuckled while looking down at her pup in her arms. The little pup was adorable. I had never wanted pups before, but looking at Halo’s mini me made my ovaries ache. The little she-wolf had two puff balls in her hair, chubby cheeks, and little pouty lips. The only thing I assumed she got from her father was her sun-kissed skin complexion. I loved that Halo had her pup in a black dress similar to hers. I couldn’t wait until I was able to do stuff like that.

“She so pretty,” I gushed, forgetting about my headache just that fast. I had the strangest urge to hold Halo’s pup. A sense of pride filled my body while looking at Halo and her pup. My memories were coming back slowly… however, I still couldn’t place where Halo came from.

“She’s spoiled rotten, which is why I’m holding her big self while she’s sleeping. Creeland’s stupid self has her thinking she needs to be held while she’s asleep.”

“I’m sure she has him wrapped around her finger.” I chuckled at the frown on Halo’s face. Relief filled my body as my headache became more faint.

“She does. I highly doubt she’ll be a big sister any time soon. A'Miracle is actually really fond of your mate as well. Creelandhates it. He gets so jealous whenever A’Miracle wants to be held by Kenzo,” Halo replied, tickled by her mate’s jealousy.

“Cree seems like the character. I can only image how he is. Ouch.” I winced as a pain shot through my knee.

“What’s wrong?”

“I think I need to get up and stretch my legs,” I said as I threw my legs over the side of the bed.

“We might as well head over to Delcan and Naiobi’s. It’s not far from here. Since they have more pups than anyone else, we figured it would be easier to go to their house.”

“Where are we now?” I asked with confusion while standing to my feet.

“Alexander and Amaree’s house. The brothers' parents' house. It was the closest place to get you to once you passed out.”

“Oh, okay. Let’s go,” I said and followed Halo as she led the way out the room.

“I can’t wait for you to meet everyone,” Halo said once we made it outside. Stepping off the porch, we walked toward a dirt path that led toward the woods.

“Who is the girl with the orangish fire red hair?” I asked with a slight frown while thinking about the she-wolf from earlier. I personally didn’t like her attitude. I got that shifters were possessive over their mates, but she didn’t know me from a can of paint, and I didn’t even speak to her funky little mate. Yeah, he was handsome but nowhere near as fine as my mate… I mean Kenzo.

He’s our mate.

My wolf didn’t sound too pleased with me. I chuckled at her annoyance. It was a weird feeling, like I was sharing a body with something else, but I was slowly getting used to it.

“Oh, Zamiyah.” Halo stopped walking and turned to me. “She’s such a sweetheart.”

I looked at Halo like she’d lost her mind. There was no way we were talking about the same she-wolf.

Smacking my lips, I replied, “More like she’s rude as hell. Calling me a hoe.” I folded my arms across my chest.

Halo made duck lips with her eyes wide in shock. Then a look of clarity crossed her face. “You look just like Bellum. She used to sleep with her mate Yves.”

“But what does that have to do with me? I don’t care who looks like me. My name is Bell-a-my. I’m sick of hearing about Bellum. She was fucking my mate too. I don’t like her ass either.” I was talking faster than my brain could process the words I was saying, and from the knowing smirk on Halo’s face, she’d heard what I said.

“Oh, so you claiming Kenzo now?” Halo asked as she shifted her pup from one shoulder to the other.

“That’s not what I meant.”

Yes, it is. He’s our mate. No one else's.
