She peppered me with questions the entire way. “Tandor? Hello? Where are we going? I have legs, you know.”

I didn’t respond. I had one goal in mind—to get her into my bed.

My focus homed in on the witch slung over my shoulder and nothing else. I didn’t know if we passed any other folk, if there were critters in my path. I wouldn’t have even noticed if the streets were on fire.

My cottage came into view quickly.

“Isn’t this your home? Tandor?”

I shoved the door open and kicked it shut behind me.

CHAPTER 38

Kizzi

My heart pounded in my chest, my body awake and thrumming. I was achingly aware of Tandor, his muscled shoulder I was slung over, the ease with which he tossed me around.

His strength was intoxicating. I was not a thin witch, I enjoyed sweets too much for that, but he handled me like I weighed nothing.

The orc dropped me onto a soft surface—his bed, I realized, saturated in his warm rain scent—and prowled over me.

He still didn’t speak. His face was obscured except for his eyes, coal rimmed and gleaming.

He was another beast entirely. I relaxed, meeting his gaze, letting my eyes tell him that I was here. That I would take whatever he decided to throw at me.

His gaze turned wicked.

He started with my hands, running his palms along my fingers, my wrists, my forearms. He stroked my skin tenderly, but the heat in his dark eyes promised something feral. Something wicked.

When he reached the fabric of my nightclothes he paused. His gaze flicked down, and he tilted his head to the side.

And then he grasped the fabric in both hands and tore my nightclothes from my body. The sound of snapping threads was deafening in the quiet of the cottage, setting my pulse racing. The fabric gave easily under his strong hands.

Soon, I was bare on his bed, naked and wanting. Air heaved in and out of my lungs in a frantic rhythm.

He leaned back to gaze at me, his eyes hot on my skin. I could practically feel his eyes tracing over me, my breasts, my stomach, the vee between my legs. I squirmed, antsy.

I reached for his cloak, tugging at it, begging him to remove it. To free his skin so I could run my hands over it.

Tandor snatched my wrists, pressing them to the bed above my head. “No,” he growled.

I gulped. “I want to touch you.”

He visibly shuddered. His eyes shut for a long moment before he dragged them open again. “No. You don’t get to touch me, little witch. I’m going to run my hands over every single inch of your delicious body. And if you’re good, maybe I’ll let you touch me. But until then—” he trailed off, snatching my wrists and binding them to the posts at the head of the bed with a swath of fabric. “You’re mine to play with.”

I didn’t resist, too shocked to put up a fight. Arousal pooled in my stomach. I didn’t know what had gotten into Tandor, but Ilovedit. This feral side of him made my mouth water.

Satisfied with the knot at my wrists, he slid his hands over my arms, across my collarbones, and settled them at my breasts. “Are you going to be good?” He kneaded my flesh in his hands, sending shivers down my spine.

I nodded, my hair rasping against the sheets.

“I didn’t hear you. I said, are you going to be good?”

My core clenched. “Yes.”

His eyes wrinkled at the corners. “Good little witch.” He stroked his thumbs over my nipples, massaging the taut skin. My back arched. A quiet whimper escaped my parted lips.

He watched my face closely, monitoring my reactions. Something about the mask on his face, the covering of his expression, made his eyes feel impossibly intense. Intimate, like could see all the way down to my soul.
