I leaned overthe table and gave her a kiss. “Scotland’s Got Talent will undoubtedly becalling any day now.” I took another sip of my coffee to erase my Pop Tartmouth. “I was thinking we could take a nice walk down by the pond. Does thatsound good to you?”

“I think Billieand your mom wanted to talk to us about wedding plans.”

We were bound, but the plan was to have a public wedding ceremony in two weeks with ourfriends and family here at the castle to commemorate the event. In themeantime, Lennox and I were going to look for a home of our own, and generallyrelish our time in our love bubble until we were forced to get back to the realworld.

“I’m sure thoseplans can wait a few hours,” I said. “How about I show you the land?”

“Sounds great.”She tapped her fingertips on the table. “I’m so full of energy right now, Ifeel like I could run a marathon.”

“Okay, FoxyNoxy, let’s walk before we run. Remember, we don’t even know what kind ofabilities you possess. Besides consuming building materials, that is.”

After awell-deserved Pop-Tart to the face, we finished our breakfast, cleaned up, andmade our way down to the pond just as the sun was rising. We walked along thewater’s edge, hand-in-hand for about an hour before Lennox started to feel abit antsy.

“I have anidea,” she said, biting her lip. “Let’s go back to the cabin and have somenaked time.”

“You mean thecastle?”

“No. I want tobe able to make as much noise as I want, but I don’t want anyone to hear me.I’d rather go to the cabin.”

“Okay, then, let’s go to the cabin,” I said.

“Didn’t I justsay that?” she sassed.

I laughed. “Didyou? I’m not sure.”

She rolled hereyes. “Can we see how fast I can run?”

“Do you rememberhow to get to the cabin from here?”

“I think so,”Lennox replied.

“Okay, good. Before you take off running, close your eyes and picture the cabin in yourmind.”

She closed hereyes.

“Now, what Iwant you to do is—”

Before I couldget another word out, Lennox disappeared into thin air, leaving behind only apuff of smoke and a smell that reminded me of toffee apples in her wake.

Phin?

I’m coming,love.

I stood in themiddle of the blacksmith’s cabin, only I had no idea how I’d gotten here.

What justhappened?

I don’t know,Phin said.

I suddenlycouldn’t stop shaking and sank to my knees as the energy coursing through mybody seemed to take over every cell. So many things were changing and for themost part, I could deal with them. Things like the fact I didn’t need glassesanymore. I saw better than I ever had.

Other thingslike not needing much in the way of sleep meant I got to spend more timelaughing with and loving Phin and getting to know his amazing family. I wasfinding my place within the large brood which was amazing especially becauseI’d never felt part of anything before and I loved it.

But this?
