Flash chuckled. “I sure do.”

“But we’re going to a hotel, right? Not a campsite or something just as cringey?”

“Ihavemet you before, Tater. I’m well aware of your aversion to baby wipes.”

I wrinkled my nose and shuddered. “Must have a full shower. Must have a full shower.”

Flash laughed. “I remember.”

Our families had gone camping together... once. That’s all it took for me to say never again. I was nine and having to use baby wipes to clean myself was just... disgusting.

Lucky for me, my parents were the type of people who always asked us to try something once, but if we didn’t like it, they didn’t make us do it again, so I was off the camping hook. Of course, it didn’t stop them from buying their own camper a few years ago once they could leave us alone for a few days at a time.

“Your mom hated it too,” I pointed out.

“Why do you think my parents bought that huge ass RV?” he retorted. “That was as far as roughing it she would go.”

“Do you still keep it at the club?”

“Yeah,” Flash said. “It gets more use from the brothers than my parents nowadays.”

“Maybe you and I can go RVing one day.”

He smiled at me. “Yeah?”

I nodded. “Sure. You know my parents bought a small one. They take off almost every weekend during the summer. Just themselves.”

“Really?”

“Yeah,” I said.

“We’ll go this summer.”

“It’s a date.”

He squeezed my hand before releasing it, pulling up to a little hotel by the river. “Oh my god, this place is so cute.”

He grinned. “Wait ’til you see inside.”

Parking the truck, he made his way to my side, helping me out, then grabbing our bags and taking my hand. We headed inside and Flash checked us in.

“Ready?”

“Yep,” I said, following him to the elevators.

He wrapped his arm around me and kissed me as we rode up. We didn’t speak. Just held each other until the doors opened, and we walked to our room where Flash unlocked the door.

I walked in ahead of him and couldn’t stop a gasp. “Holy crap, this is gorgeous.”

I heard the door close behind us and the thump as the bags hit the floor, then Flash was beside me, his arms around me as we looked out over the marina.

“You approve?”

I grinned, facing him, and looping my arms around his neck. “It’s perfect, honey. Thank you.”

“Good enough to make you mine.”

“Confession?” I asked, stroking the back of his neck. “I would let you do anything to me, even in a tent, but this is way better.”
