“Saturday?”
“Yeah, Saturday would work. Can we maybe not go to the Summit?”
He grinned. “Yeah, Breezy. We could do dinner and a movie if you want.”
“That would be amazing. I’ll see what’s playing.”
“Sounds good.”
“Water’s on,” Felix yelled down the stairs.
“Okay, I’ll be right up.”
But I wasn’t right up. Instead, I was pulled out of sight of the stairs and kissed for all I was worth. I gripped Stoney’s jacket and held on tight as he worked my mouth with his tongue.
“Jesus,” he hissed, breaking the kiss.
“You saw God, huh?” I joked, and he laughed.
“Yeah, somethin’ like that.”
I stroked his beard. “I love these sweet interludes, but we can’t keep making out in corners.”
He chuckled. “Oh, I don’t know. There are a lot of corners.”
I shivered. “You make me want to do a lot more than make out in corners.”
“Yeah, baby, right there with you.”
“I’m ready!” Felix called. “Where are you guys?”
“Busted,” I whispered, and pulled away from Stoney, making my way upstairs. Felix was in the bathroom waiting for me. “I’m here, baby.” I checked the water and determined it was good for Felix, so he hopped into the bath. “Are you okay with Stoney hanging with you while I get your PJs ready?”
Felix shrugged. “Sure.”
I walked out of the bathroom and called for Stoney, who jogged up the stairs with a concerned look on his face. “What’s wrong?”
“Sorry, nothing. I just need to grab his PJs, so can you make sure he doesn’t drown?”
“I’m not gonna drown, Auntie,” Felix called.
“Make sure he doesn’t drown,” I countered in a whisper, and Stoney chuckled, stepping into the bathroom.
I grabbed clean clothes for Felix, turned down his bed, and set his book on the end of it, before grabbing a towel from the hall closet and walking back into the bathroom.
“You ready?”
“Yep,” Felix said, dumping a bucket of water over his head, then standing as he wiped his face.
I handed Stoney a towel and he looked at it, then me.
“Wrap it around him, and lift him out,” I directed.
Felix opened one eye, lifting his hands and Stoney wrapped the towel around him and lifted him out of the bath, loosening the towel so he could dry his hair, then letting Felix do the rest.
“Go get dressed, bud,” I said. “Then your dad’ll come read to you.”
“Okay,” Felix said, padding to his bedroom.
