He chuckled and we headed downstairs to his truck.
Pulling up to the hotel, we parked then made our way inside. There were some side eyes from a few of the older clientele as we walked to our table and it took everything inside of me not to make some kind of snotty remark, but Sundance just smiled and waited for me to take my seat before taking his own.
“Does that happen a lot?” I asked after the hostess walked away.
The hostess had been giving my man a wholly different kind of side eye, which both made me proud and want to scratch her eyes out.
“What?”
“The glary looks from people.”
“Baby, I’m a biker. Lots of people have lots of responses to that fact.”
“I don’t like it,” I said, and glared at my menu.
He chuckled. “Yeah, I can tell.”
“Why are you so calm?” I hiss-pered.
“I’m in a fancy restaurant with the most beautiful woman in the room sitting across from me. I’m about to eat some kickass food prepared by a good friend, who also happens to be a Michelin Star chef, and then I’m gonna take my woman home and fuck her until she can’t walk. Why wouldn’t I be calm?”
“Oh, my god,” I whispered. “You keep talking like that, I’m going to crawl under this table and suck—”
“Hey, Sundance.”
I jumped slightly at the deep voice, and glanced up at a man I hadn’t seen or heard approach. Oh my god, I was mortified. Hopefully, he didn’t hear me.
“Hey, brother.” Sundance grinned and stood, hugging him. “JT, this is Wyatt. Wyatt, JT.”
I moved to stand, but he waved me down. “Don’t get up. It’s nice to meet you.”
I shook his hand, my face still blazing. “Nice to meet you, too.”
“You wanna look at the menu, or do you want me to surprise you?” he asked.
“Surprise us,” Sundance said.
“Okay, man. I’ll come check on you later.”
“Thanks.”
Sundance sat back down again, and I raised an eyebrow at him. “You could have warned me he was close.”
He chuckled. “You were expressing your appreciation. I didn’t want to disturb you.”
“You’re gonna owe me later.”
“I’ll pay any penance you want me to.”
I bit my lip and grabbed the wine menu. “Good thing they have an expensive wine list and I have a little while to figure out exactly what your penance will be.”
Sundance laughed and I couldn’t stop a grin as I found my favorite bottle of wine on the list.
At a hefty price.
I ordered it.
