Things ended today. They were going to handle this once and for all and God help her, she hoped they won.
Under the cover of the night, the team slipped into the darkness, blending in with the night, and headed toward the bar. They used every sense and tech they had to make sure there were no trip wires to alert them they were on the way.
Hollywood used her magic to take out the video cameras to make them useless. Once that was done, they got the door to the bar unlocked.
The alarm appeared to be off since the bad guys still seemed to be inside the bar. That worked to their advantage very well.
The team broke up into three teams and spread out, looking for the doorway that would lead to the basement. Lana didn’t think it would be in front of where the bar itself was, but she’d seen stranger things before.
Her group headed toward the back of the bar near where the grill was. When they stepped just past the kitchen stove and dishwashing area, they found a door.
Lana looked over at Rocky, who nodded at her. She pulled out her cell and sent the other teams a text.
When the others showed up, minus two that would watch the front door and two moved to the back door, Lana let Rocky and Captain Windsor lead the way. Hawk and Viper were in front of Lana, making sure they had her covered in the front with Sgt. Bueller and Country behind her in case shit popped off from behind.
Ryan brought up the rear with a couple of other teammates. They were making sure if anyone came out of the woodwork, they were the first in line from behind.
Rocky slowly opened the door with the others having their weapons raised, ready to light up whoever came at them. When no movement came at them, they slowly, two by two, went down the stairs, keeping their weapons ready.
When they got down to the bottom of the stairs, that’s when the party started. There was a hallway that started once they got to the bottom and several doors on both sides of the hallway where men stood as if guarding something inside the rooms.
They made quick work of the men in the hallway, taking them out one by one. While Rocky and Captain Windsor started forward, Hawk, Viper, Lana, Cullen, and Hollywood checked the rooms to see why the guards were standing there.
Each room had several girls that have gone missing in the last few months. Each room had a cot in the room for the girls to sleep on.
They looked high as a kite and didn’t realize where they were. When the women walked into the room, they didn’t even look at them.
They marked the room so that they knew which rooms the missing girls were in after they shut the door. They needed to eliminate the suspects who took them first.
Still no sign of Jayson, which was annoying the hell out of Lana. They were near the end of the hallway when a door opened, and a group of large ass men came out of the room with their guns raised at the women.
“Ah, Ms. Pennington. You’ve finally joined the party. And you’ve bought friends.”
“You must be Rusty. Let me guess, you’re the show runner for your coward of a brother? I’m curious, Rusty, why your mom sent you here to kidnap young girls and yet you didn’t target the Kenwoods the way she wanted you to. You have a soft spot for your nieces?”
“Apparently, you’ve never heard of the long game, Ms. Pennington. While my mother wants to destroy the town, I plan on owning it and making it my bitch. Which I was well on my way of doing until you bitches showed up.”
“Glad we were able to disrupt,” Rocky fired back. “Now, put your weapons down and hands in the air.”
“No. It will be you all putting your weapons down and your hands in the air.”
“Not happening, shaggy. Guess we have a new Alamo right here in your basement. Now, next question, where is the senator and dear old mom?”
“Where you can’t touch them. They send their regards. Dad is going to be the next President of the United States and there is nothing you or your crew of whores can do to stop it.”
“Eh, I think we can. I think we are on the way. Dear old pops and momma wouldn’t be sending their thugs to take us out likethey have if we haven’t caused a drop in their ratings. Which, according to the news this morning, we have.”
“Once we deal with the trash, it will stabilize again.”
“For someone who got away with the shit he did for years, you’re really stupid as hell. Who really started all this and kept it going because it couldn’t have been you?” Lana rolled her eyes at Rusty’s posturing.
“Take them out,” Rusty ordered his men.
Before Rusty’s men could start shooting, Lana and her team opened fire, taking every man out before they could fire one shot. When Rusty fell to the ground with a bullet to his head, Lana held up her hand for the others to stop shooting.
Not a single person who raised their weapon against them stood. Lana and her captain stepped forward toward the room they had all come out of.
In the middle of the room, hanging from the meat hook in the ceiling, hung Jayson with no shirt on. His body was sweaty, bloody, and bruised in multiple places.
