“No. Well, yeah, if we were normal.” He pulled back to look at me, his eyes bright. “But you and I both know we’ve never really done normal all that well.”
He was right. That certainly wasn’t our style.
“You’ve already done so much for me today,” he murmured, his hands on my hips.
The only thing I could think about as I looked at him was his lips being pressed against mine again. I wanted to taste him, to devour him.
“They were things that needed to be done. I can’t live without you, Jude. I’d give up everything in order to keep you in my life.”
“But you don’t need to.”
Just then, the timer on the oven sounded. With an apologetic smile, I slipped my hands from around his waist and sauntered into the kitchen.
“What did you make?” he questioned, following close behind. “It smells amazing.”
“A pasta dish. It should be fairly light on our stomachs.”
“Okay––” the word was drawn out, the confusion evident in his voice.
“So, I was thinking…” After setting the dish down on the stove, the smell making my stomach growl, I turned to look over my shoulder at him. “Maybe we could visit the shed tonight?”
It took Jude a moment to get over the shock before speaking. “You never need to ask if you’re in need. But are you sure? I thought we had agreed to work with Destri a couple more times to ensure I wouldn’t hurt you.”
“Judah, I trust you with everything I am,” I said, pulling him into me again. “I’m ready for whatever you bring out of me. Ineedit.”
“What about subspace? I–I don’t know what your signals are to let me know you’re getting close.”
“You’ve seen me at my lowest point, Kid. I have nothing else to hide. If it doesn’t work, then so be it. But I’d like to at least try.”
Jude leaned in and pressed his lips to my forehead. When he pulled back, he studied me carefully, as if searching for any signs of uncertainty. “What if I mess up?”
“Don’t worry, baby, I have all the bases covered. Destri and Eli are on stand-by if things turn south.”
“As long as you tell me the moment something isn’t right, I’m in.”
“I promise, Jude.” Giving in to the temptation, I pressed my lips to his, a moan escaping him as his body melted into mine.
“Perfect,” I coaxed as Jude tightened the cuff around my left wrist. Yanking on both wrists, I ensured they were secured and I wouldn’t be able to jerk out of them.
I knew he was nervous, and I feared that maybe I was putting too much pressure on him. Of course, Jude never would have told me if that were the case. Still, I didn’t want anyone else to do this. Not tonight.
Tonight, I just wanted it to be us.
Two lovers.
Two souls.
Two hearts beating as one.
“I got this,” he muttered to himself in hopes that I didn’t hear him.
I already had everything placed on a table, ready to be used. Hell, I even put lube and a condom out. I wasn’t sure we’d get that far, but I wanted to make sure I had every base covered–just in case.
I heard Judah groan, as if he were amused, when he turned to see everything neatly arranged on the table. “You think you can handle all of that?”
“Whatever you’re comfortable with,” I confidently responded. “I won’t push you on what your limits may be.”
“I know.” I probably should have talked to him about everything before he had me tied up so that I could wrap my arms around him and tell him to forget it. That was an oversight on my part. “No pressure, baby.”
