Chapter 36
Zachariah
I loathed the fact that I had to leave my wife, in her current state, to deal with business. I didn’t want to, and I made damn sure that she knew that. I couldn’t have her second guessing my actions just because work demanded me to.
I knew the kind of shipment that was due in, I just hoped it could have been delayed for one reason or another. I had no luck in that department.
Figures.
Instead of leaving Avidya on her own, knowing she wasn’t quite up to being left alone for so long, or at all for that matter, I called Travis. With him being in the world of BDSM, and a sub, I knew I could count on him to watch over my wife. He’d know the signs of dropping if she happened to. I didn’t think she would, but I’d rather be safe than sorry. Dropping in subform was never a good idea.
Avidya had not reacted like I expected to our scening session. Don’t get me wrong, I loved every minute of it. I just hadn’t expected her to reach subspace. Normally, it took more work on my part to get a sub at that stage.
For a sub to reach subspace, she had to have great trust in her Dom to take care of every need. I was surprised that she trusted me so much to do so. Given, Avidya wasn’t used to such pleasure, so I probably should have been expecting something of the sorts on what did truly happen. I may have used her thrill and compliance a little too much. She just responded so well to everything, I couldn’t stop myself from taking her rough and hard as I had her tied up to the bed.
Before leaving the house, I made sure that Avidya understood what I was going to go do, and that I’d be back as soon as I could. I don’t think she caught much of what I was saying as her mind was still fuzzy.
I wasn’t sure how long the subspace would last for her, either. Some subs only stayed there for a few hours, while others could be there for a week or two. Sometimes more. It all depended on the person. I think Avidya would come back to herself in another day or two at the most.
Once Travis arrived, I gave him the rundown, knowing he at least would understand my concern. He seemed a bit on edge, almost grumpy, but I brushed it off. I knew his weekly time with Kenna was coming up, and the rules that he agreed to were something that challenged him, but I knew that Avidya would be in good hands with Travis nonetheless.
It didn’t take much time to get to the building, The Loop, where the shipment was being delivered. I arrived just at the same time as the black van pulled up, and stopped roughly. I grimaced, knowing that stop surely put damage on the goods that was in the back.
Getting out of my car, I took a look around, seeing nothing out of the ordinary. It was a relief that this shipment would be taken care of without any issues on all sides.
As I shut the door to the car, I watched the driver of the van exit. He was someone new that hadn’t delivered before. I had randomly put one man in charge, seeing how well they could do since my go-to guy was no longer with me. I didn’t expect him to last very long.
This new man was shorter than me, which wasn’t hard on a normal day. His sun-kissed skin glistened with the warm sun shining down upon him. I’d guess to say he was in his early twenties.
“What you got for me today?” I asked, placing my hands on my hips to show off my gun.
“Three girls,” he coughed out. For being so young, his voice sounded like he smoked twenty-four seven for years.
“Ages?” I asked, my voice hard. I hated training newbies in this type of work. They never did anything right.
“I don’t know,” he shrugged out. “I wasn’t given any indication on what I should look for.”
“Get them out and let me have a look then,” I sighed out. “Next time, I want to know ages, at least. You can’t just go picking up random girls. And they need to be healthy, or at least healthy looking.”
“They aren’t random,” he rolled his eyes.
“With that attitude, you won’t last long here,” I stated as he went to open the back of the door.
Working alone, the newbie ushered out three girls. I quickly looked them over from my spot, seeing all three filthy from head to toe. I swear I even saw bugs crawling around on them.
“This the best you could do?” I asked out roughly. It wasn’t bad, per se, but I could tell these three would do just about anything to get their hands on any type of drug. They were used to being abused and taken, that would be a bit normal for the types of girls that I employed. But their drug habits would kill them soon enough. Too soon, most likely, to even be worth my efforts.
Normally, I didn’t look them over before they were cleaned up and placed in a room in the basement. I had no need to, but with both Gemini and Shemoli gone, I had to step up and take the place of what the lost men had taken care of. I had yet to find a man trustworthy to take that step. I wasn’t sure any of my men wouldn’t take advantage of the work that was required with the girls to make them feel welcome in my building.
“You said to get them off the street!” he said, raising his voice.
“Whatever,” I muttered with a shake of my head before snapping my fingers for a man to come and get the three slightly, frightened drugged girls. The man was standing just out of sight, knowing what his job was. Like normal, they hardly fought to be ushered inside where they thought they’d get more drugs.
When they were inside, the door safely shutting them in, I pulled out my gun and shot the newbie right in the chest without a second thought. He wasn’t able to make a sound before his heart stopped beating.
I didn’t feel bad. He thought he could just waltz in here and act like he did. That wasn’t going to pass by me. My men knew never to act like with me around unless they wished to die and today was not a day to test my control when it came to business. It was a good thing that I wasn’t in desperate need of girls to keep this place going.
A moment after the newbie fell, blood staining the ground, two men came rushing out of the building to see what had happened.
