Zander, after what seemed like an eternity, smiled. “Okay. Let’s start fresh.”

I glanced at Reggie, and his lips were turned into a grin.

“Let’s do this. Fresh start it is.”

Chapter Eleven

Reggie

“HowdoyouknowDaren?” Zander asked as Colin placed the ranch chicken bake in the oven. Colin didn’t reply right away. He set the time and turned back to us.

“Let’s move to the living room and get comfortable. It’s a long story,” Colin said.

Zander hopped off the stool, and I followed suit. I was still astonished by the size of Colin’s apartment. You could fit my little place at least ten times over. It had three bedrooms, a full-size kitchen and dining room, a giant family room, and an office.

I loved how Colin had decorated. Modern furniture with sleek, hard angles but softened with two large, overstuffed white couches and a giant, black lazy boy that could comfortably hold all three of us.

Zander sat at one end of the couch while Colin took his place on the lazy boy. I felt weird, and I wanted to be close to both, but at the same time, I knew talking had to be done, and this would be a serious talk.

“Daren?” Zander asked as I sat down on the other end of the couch.

“Um, who is Daren?” I asked. “I know he was the one that hurt you, Zander, but I’m a little confused as to why and who he is.”

“Daren is a vampire, and the man I said was my enemy. I met him when I came here from France in the early 1980s.”

“What? I’m sorry, the 1980s? Um…” I scrunched my face, trying to do the math. It would mean Colin was in his fifties or sixties.

“I’m a lot older than I look,” Colin said as if reading my mind. “Most paranormals live to be at least a thousand. I’m a little over a hundred and twenty. I think Fae live longer.” Colin’s voice trailed in question as he raised his eyebrows to Zander, who nodded.

“Most of the fae are immortal,” Zander said.

“What?!” My mind was running wild. I knew I was dealing with vampires and the paranormal, but hearing they live that long, and some were immortal, blew me away. “How old are you?” I asked Zander.

“Do you want fae years or human years?” He replied.

“There’s a difference? And what do you mean by Fae? I thought you were an imp.”

Zander chuckled. “The term Fae encompasses many different species, including elves, imps, and even fairies. I’m from a different realm called the Fae realm. That’s why time moves differently. I’m roughly seven thousand in human years and three thousand years old in fae years.”

“Wow, how do you get there? Wait, do you have to live there…will we?” I asked with trepidation. As incredible as it sounded to experience a new world, I was terrified.

“No, sweetheart, we don’t have to live there. We can choose any place. We can discuss that later.”

“Zander’s right. We can choose anywhere, be it Chicago, Colorado, or the Fae realm—as long as we’re together, I’ll be happy,” Colin said.

I smiled as a warm feeling swept through my body. I shook my head. I couldn’t believe that fatso Reggie was talking about spending his life with two stunning men, and more that they wanted me. My smile vanished. A thought raced through my mind.

“I don’t live as long as you two…what happens when….” Tears blurred my vision. I couldn’t even finish my words. I didn’t want to be without them.

Zander and Colin moved like lightning to my side. I was sandwiched between them as they wrapped their arms over my shoulders.

“After we bond, it will bind our life forces together, and you’ll live as long as we do. We’ll be together forever,” Zander said.

“Forever,mon chou,” Colin whispered.

I settled in their embrace, and we sat in silence. I loved the feeling of having both of these men by my side. Zander slowly pulled away, and Colin followed suit. I sighed; I missed their touch.

Zander turned to face Colin. “Daren,” he said, and a grimace flashed over Colin’s face before Zander continued. “I know I keep bringing him up, but I think it’s important for me to understand to move on. So we can move on.”
