“I’m so sorry baby.”
I tell her suddenly I feel something and wipe my face. I finally had let myself cry in front of someone and not just anyone but her. I smile to myself, only she can get me to become vulnerable like this. I’ll have to protect her from here on out by any means necessary. I begin to let myself cry while Liam takes us to the hospital. Suddenly I feel a hand on my cheek. I look and see Lillian is looking at me with half-hooded eyes.
“Don’t cry Adonis, it’ll all be ok-”
She says to me before she fades again. I can’t help but bring her closer to me wanting nothing more than for her to wake up again.
“You have to be ok baby, ok? You must because I- I don’t know how in the world I would be able to live without you.”
I tell her as I lift her hand to my face kissing her palm.
“Princess, you are my anchor. Without you, I’ll drift off to places that aren’t safe. I need you to always bring me home.”
I kiss her one last time before I let her go, I watch as they take her away from me. Not knowing how this will end. My fears come to the surface, and I realize that I have more work to do before I can live happily with my Lillypad.
Lillian
I wake up to the sound of a soft cry, I open my eyes and feel groggy with sleep, and I move my arm and wince with the pain shooting straight into my back. I look over to my side and see Mary and Elizabeth, Mary is holding Elizabeth while she cries.
“Liz is crying?”
I say in a husky voice.
“Toughen up buttercup, people will think you're a fragile dandelion.”
They both snap their attention to me and rush to my side.
“Oh my god Lills!”
Mary embraces me and I wince at the contact but hug her back, I look to Elizabeth and motion her to come in for a hug.
She begins to cry again and runs to me.
“I-I’m s-so s-s-sorr-”
She can’t finish her sentence between her sobs, but I know she means it. Liz isn’t one to cry so easily. I pat her head as she cries in my lap. Suddenly there is a knock at the door.
“Ah, welcome back Ms. Han, how are you feeling?”
The doctor asks me, and I smirk.
“Like I've been hit by a train.”
I tell him and he smiles, he walks over to get my pulse and check my vitals.
“Well, everything seems good, you have a fractured rib, and a black eye, a small cut in your mouth as well but other than that you and the baby are perfectly healthy.”
Suddenly the blood drains from my face. Did he just, no he couldn't have.
“I’m sorry doctor but did you tell me and my baby?”
I asked him again, reaching for my stomach.
“Yes, ma’am it looks like you are about 4 weeks, it’s growing well.”
I look over to the girls who look just as shocked as I do.
“Th-thank you, sir.”
