Just like that my world came crashing down. Everything I thought I knew wasn’t true at all.
“You? You’re an extractor?”
I asked her in disbelief, and she smiled a sly smile.
“Of course, Adonis Malith, I know everything about you. Once I knew you were going out with Lilly, I had to do my research. Being twenty-eight and in line for your father’s company I got a lot of intel on you.”
She says walking up to me.
“Your father wants Maxwell dead, that's fine, so do we. But you will not lay a finger on Lillian. We will watch every move and every step you take. If you hurt, her in the slightest-”
I cut her off.
“I Think I’m in love with her Elizabeth.”
It just flew out; I didn’t even think about it. Elizabeth looked taken aback.
“I am in love with her, and I can’t bring myself to hurt her. I-I tried to distance myself but I couldn’t bring myself to when she-”
she cuts me off.
“When she looks at you with her big doe eyes?”
I look at her and I nod. Elizabeth sighs and walks to the porch swing. She sits down and I walk to her.
“Ok, so what's your plan then? We already know your father wants them both dead. Can he not be reasoned with?”
She asked me and I shook my head.
“When he wants someone dead, he wants them dead no ifs and or buts.”
I tell her through a sigh. She looks up and exhales.
“This party you have her going to, is it a set up?” She asks me and I look into the distance.
“I don’t know, it’s been an event for the charity gala for a while, but I don’t know what my father’s motive is. I don’t know what he is thinking half the time.”
I tell her as I rub my face.
“All I know is he wanted me to invite her and y’all to it.”
I look her in her eyes and see the calculations running in her mind.
“Ok, so we go, act like everything is normal. We will protect her at all costs.”
I nod.
“Even if it cost me my life, I will die for her.”
I tell her and she nods.
“I know you would, Adonis.”
She stands up and starts to walk into the house but before she opens the door, she turns to me.
“Lillian is an amazing girl, don’t hurt her, ok? Remember I know 205 ways to kill someone and make it look like an accident.”
I smirk at her.
