“How dare you. Do you even know why I wasn’t here? It’s because I was in the hospital because you had told that mad man I was here, and he beat me! Do you not care what my face looks like right now?!”
I yell at my mother and they both look down and then suddenly my mother says.
“Tch you’re just being dramatic I’m sure he didn-”
Before she could finish, I threw a book at her,
“Get the fuck out of my room.”
I tell her.
“Don’t you dare talk to me like that!”
She yells at me, and I finish packing my bag.
“I will be back after my hike, when I come back, I will start packing. This is long over do but I can’t be here anymore, not with you two.”
I walk down the stairs, and I hear my mother yelling at me telling me I’m being dramatic again and how it’s always my fault.
I hear my sister yelling and saying how I am the disappointment and how dad would be so ashamed of me. Normally I would agree but I full-heartedly believe dad would be disappointed in them. I am not the problem. From the moment he died I was pushed aside; I was never good enough. I’m done coming in second place. I'm done trying to please them.
Before I leave, I look back at her and my sister and tell them,
“I wish it was you two who had died and not dad.” with that I left them, with their mouths wide open.

I suddenly heard shouting, and I ran up to the door, I hear Lillian tell her mother and sister something no family member wants to hear, and she opens the door to me standing on her porch.
“Oh, I’m sorry if you heard all that, we were just-”
I grabbed her and held her while taking the duffle bag she was carrying. We walked back and I handed her the helmet.
“Did you text the boys? I already messaged the girls, and they are so in!”
she tells me and I chuckle,
“Yeah, they are going to pick them up and head over to the spot we are meeting at. I want to show you something special.”
I tell her and a glint of curiosity takes a hold of her eyes. I laugh and we head off to the park. We get there and the others are already there. We head on to the trail and it is beautiful. I walked behind Lillian the entire time and God what I would give just to have her legs wrapped around my face again.
“Look! A waterfall!”
We hear Mary yell, and I smile at Lillian, I take her hand and we all head to it. We all get undressed in our suits and jump into the water. I see her and her friends laughing and I can’t help but feel at ease.
“So, get anything from her?”
I hear Liam ask me and I look back at him and shake my head.
“She says it was a random attack, but I know she’s been in contact with him, he had to have been at her house. If he was the one who did that to her than-”

“God help that man's soul because he messed with someone you care about huh?”
I shoot daggers at him and reply.
