When Paxton found me, I knew he’d like the look. After brushing my teeth, running a brush through my hair, I walked back into the bedroom. Stopping at the edge of the bed, I looked down at the gorgeous man that belonged to me.

He made me believe in love again.

With Paxton I felt it to my core. In my soul. And in my heart.

Tears of happiness slipped down my cheeks. I swiped them away and took one last look at my husband. God, he was sexy. He lay there with the white sheet twisted around his calves, leaving the rest of his gloriously naked body bare for my viewing. I almost crawled right back in bed, but I wanted to cook my guy breakfast so I made myself turn and head to the kitchen.

A short while later, I was so lost in my task of making Paxton’s favorite cinnamon rolls, along with bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns, that I didn’t hear him get up.

“Something smells good.”

A tingle of desire hit me between my legs at just his deep voice and I spun around to face him, spatula in hand.

“Fuck,” Paxton said, sucking in a breath. “Now that is a sight I want to see every morning.”

I’d forgotten what I was wearing. His shirt, wide open and my white lace panties. I knew he’d like it and I wasn’t wrong.

My husband quickly made his way over to me, grabbed the spatula from my hand, turned off the stove, and moved the pans off the burners. The pastry was already done so at least the oven was already off, because Pax had different plans that had nothing to do with breakfast.

“Morning,” he said, before devouring my mouth in a toe-curling kiss.

After pulling back, he looked down at my body, scanning me from head to toe. Then he slapped my ass.

“Get back in bed, Mrs. Brewer, your husband wants to show you how much he loves you.”

He swatted me again, winked and flashed me his dimples.

That’s all it took before I did exactly as he asked and waddled to the bedroom.

We might not be doing the honeymoon thing right now with the threat and the baby, but as long as Paxton kept me in the bedroom, that was good enough for me.

I didn’t need a honeymoon.

All I needed was Pax.

ChapterThirty-Four

PAXTON

A picnic wasa new experience for me.

Who knew I could be such a romantic.

My wife was about to pop and was only a couple days away from her due date. It was the end of May and a beautiful spring day. I wanted to do something sweet for Capri so while we were only going to be in our own backyard, I planned a date.

“Close your eyes, darlin’,” I told her.

She immediately shut her eyes, trusting me without question and my heart fluttered knowing that. I held her hand and slowly walked her through the kitchen, into the backyard, and down the steps on the back deck.

“What are you doing?” she asked.

“No peeking, we’re almost there.”

She huffed as if she was put out, but the smile on her face told me she was secretly excited about the surprise. The truth of it was, my wife loved surprises. And I loved her, so I planned to surprise her often.

Once we’d walked to the edge of the yard where things were set up, I stopped her, but didn’t release her hand.

“Okay, you can open your eyes.”
