A prickling on the back of my neck yanked my attention from the thoughts spinning in my head and my gaze whipped to the rearview mirror. It was light out and there were many cars on the road, but something didn’t feel right. My eyes surveyed everything behind and around me, but I didn’t see anything that stood out.

For the remainder of the drive I tried to stay vigilant, but we made it to the beach without any problems. Still, that niggling feeling was there and that bothered me. I didn’t want anything to ruin our trip, but I didn’t want anything to happen to Capri either.

After unbuckling my seat belt, I leaned over the console and brushed a featherlight kiss across Capri’s sensual lips. “Wake up, sleepy head,” I whispered before straightening in my seat, my eyes glued to the vision next to me.

Her eyes fluttered open and when her gaze landed on mine, a smile so bright it could have blinded me, graced her beautiful face. Then she looked around and her face fell.

“Oh my gosh. I’m so sorry I slept all the way here. How boring for you.”

When her eyes came back to mine, I cupped my hand to the nape of her neck and gently pulled her closer, meeting her halfway.

“There was nothing boring about my drive because you were with me. Sleeping or awake, you make me the happiest man alive.”

Her smile came back, more radiant than the first time and I couldn’t help but steal another kiss. This time there was nothing light about it and we made out like teenagers in the hotel parking lot. Both breathing heavily when we managed to break ourselves apart, we stared at each other for a moment before collecting ourselves and getting out of the car.

I didn’t tell Capri about the prickling feeling I had on the way here, but I was glad it was gone as we made our way to the lobby doors. That didn’t mean I wasn’t scanning our surroundings and keeping her close all the way there.

Once checked in, we headed to our suite. It was a nice hotel and we had an oceanfront view. I dropped our bags in the bedroom off from the main living area and glanced at our king size bed. While I planned to use the space to take my girl for a tumble, when it was time to sleep the big bed wasn’t needed because Capri always pressed her body right against mine leaving no space between us.

I wasn’t sure I’d ever be able to sleep without her.

Knowing sometimes my work would take me away and I would indeed not always be with her, I hoped I could convince her to make those the only times we weren’t together when we laid our heads to rest.

“I love this view!” Capri yelled from the other room. “I can’t wait to walk on the beach!”

After coming up behind her, I wrapped my arms around her middle and rested my chin on her shoulder, taking in the scene she was looking at.

“I need to feed you and then we could take a walk on the beach. What do you think?”

She turned around, placing her hands on my chest. “Hmm. I’m thinking we should test out the bed, eat, and then take that walk.” She gave me a sexy smile and rubbed her palms up and down my pecs. Throwing my words back at me, she added, “What do you think?”

“I think you’re the smartest woman I know.”

Fast as lightning, I bent down, dragged her behind her knees and tossed her over my shoulder.

Capri squealed with laughter as I moved quickly toward the bedroom.

We eventually got to dinner and a moonlight walk on the beach.

Just much later than planned.

Our timeat the beach was going faster than I would have liked.

We had so much fun on Sunday playing in the ocean, building sandcastles, and visiting the shops. Seeing Capri so relaxed and carefree was refreshing. I loved how playful she was and not afraid to let loose. It was a far cry from how restrained she was half the time before being able to let her secrets free.

I must say though, seeing her in a bikini was like the cherry on top.

“I can’t believe it’s been a whole day and we head back tomorrow,” Capri said as we walked hand in hand for a stroll on the beach as the day was winding down.

We were on the same page, which wasn’t unusual. It wasn’t a surprise being we fit so well together. I’d never found another person I clicked with in every way.

“I know,” I told her, while pulling on her hands and spinning her into me so we faced each other. “I promise we’ll come back soon.”

I gave her my best smile and she shuddered.

“Hey, sweetheart, are you cold?”
