While it shocked me, it was something I was getting used to and could for sure get behind.

“Have you done the deed?”Alley blurted out.

Leave it to her not to beat around the bush.

After dinner the ladies grabbed more wine and huddled in a circle around the fire pit to chat. The more wine we drank the more the conversation turned into one much like ours when we had our ladies’ sleepovers. Even the few who were not drinking, like Gemma because she was pregnant and Ruby due to the fact she was breastfeeding were all in with the shenanigans.

It was getting wild and I couldn’t stop laughing.

“I’m going to pee my pants,” Jurnee told everyone.

“You’re always about to pee your pants,” Summer replied.

Jurnee, Summer, and Alley were best friends. They’d gone to middle school together and been inseparable ever since. I loved watching their interactions. Not that they ever left anyone out, it was just they almost knew each other better than they knew themselves.

What would that be like?

It may not be exactly the same, but the friendship I had with the girls now was special. And since I wasn’t hiding anymore, it brought forth a sense of peace and allowed me to get even closer to everyone.

Where they held back a bit on my account, I guess those days were over.

“If you did, don’t give any details in front of me,” Gemma announced. “Paxton is my brother. That would be eww.”

Everyone giggled. There were a couple other relationships in this crazy group that went the same way. Jurnee was married to Alley’s brother, and Alley was married to Summer’s brother so it was a statement we’d heard more than one time.

“At least tell us if you have seen him naked and the ‘He could be an underwear model’ statement rings true,” Teal said, a hiccup slipping from her as she did.

The wine was flowing and we were all feeling it. Ruby started pouring more glasses as everyone waited for my answer. I took another sip of liquid courage and gave them the honest truth.

“Can’t answer that quite yet, but God do I want to see him naked,” I said a teensy bit too loud.

All the ladies' faces showed shock, that I could understand, but I expected to get bombarded with questions and they didn’t come. Everyone was silent, but Gemma was oddly nodding her head. My spine stiffened when I realized she was nodding to something behind me.

Slowly turning in my seat a bit, I twisted my neck to see none other than Paxton standing there with a devilish smirk on his face.

“That can definitely be arranged, darlin’.”

The wink and the dimples almost had me jumping from the chair to drag him home.

Kill me now.

Seeing he wasn’t alone, but stood with Rowan and Gyth, made it even more embarrassing. My face flamed red and I spun back in my chair, thrusted my wine glass out toward Ruby. “Fill ’er up.”

Everyone burst into laughter.

“I thinkI may be a wee bit tipsy,” I slurred.

Paxton was doing his damnedest to get me settled into the passenger seat of his car so we could head home, but I stumbled many times on the way there and wasn’t making things easy.

Right before he shut the door, I popped my head back out halting his process when I saw Gemma and Bodie there watching us with amused looks on their faces.

“Wish me luck!” I yelled at them.

Gemma walked closer and her man followed. “What are we wishing you luck for?”
