“Such a gentleman,” she said as she climbed in.

“My mama raised me right,” he told her.

“So, where are we headed?” she asked once he was in the driver's seat.

“I thought we'd get dinner at Vertigo, then go dancing at Club Prophecy,” he replied. Vertigo was an Italian restaurant.

“Oh, good choices. And when we get to the club, we can bypass the line. I know the owner, so I'm on the VIP list,” she told him.

“Well, that's beneficial,” Finley replied. “I'm glad you approve,” he added as he drove to the restaurant.

“I've only been to Vertigo once, but the food was really good, so I definitely approve,” she said.

They reached the restaurant, and after he parked, he came around to help her out of the SUV. He held her hand as they entered.

“Table for two?” the hostess asked and Finley said yes. “Follow me,” she told them and led them to a table near the back.

When they reached the table, Finley helped with her chair. Then he sat across from her.

“So, tell me a bit about you,” Finley said while they waited for their server.

“Well, let's see. I'm a Virgo, you already know I'm a witch, my favorite color is purple, I'm the middle child, I have an older brother and younger sister, I hate sauerkraut, I love to dance, and I have a pet owl named Zen who is definitely not zen,” she replied.

“I noticed the owl yesterday. I think that's really cool. He's a snowy owl, right? I'm assuming it's a he, anyway.”

“Yes, it's a he,” she replied.

“Hi, I'm Sasha, I'll be your server tonight. Can I get you something to drink?” the server asked.

“I'll have the strawberry lemonade,” Sorcha told her.

“That sounds good. I'll have the same,” Finley said.

“Okay. Do you need a few moments to decide, or are you ready to order?”

“Can you give us a few minutes?” Finley asked.

“Sure thing. I'll be right back with your drinks,” the server replied and left.

They both looked over the menu while she was gone.

“I think I'm going to go with the Cotoletta alla Milanese,” Sorcha said after looking over the menu.

“I think I'm going to go with the Risotto alla Milanese,” Finley said after a moment.

When the server returned with their drinks, they gave their orders and she left.

“Now, tell me a bit about you,” Sorcha said.

“I'm the oldest of four, at thirty, I took dance lessons when I was younger, I have a black cat named Seline, I can play the guitar, self-taught, let's see, my favorite color is black, and I hate spiders.”

“Oh, another spider-hater! You, me, and my best friend Zaine have that in common.”

“Your best friend is a guy? How long have you known him?”

“Twenty years. We met when I was six and he was eight. At the time, he was friends with my brother,” Sorcha replied.

“How did you two become friends then?” Finley asked.
