"If I get to pick, we're going to binge on Harry Potter," she replied.

"Sounds good, darlin'."

Soon they were cuddled up with the first movie playing. "I can't believe how young they were," Yaeger said.

"Right? Now they're all grown up. It's crazy. But shush. Let's just watch the movie."

"Yes, ma'am," he said and tickled her side.

She squealed and squirmed away from him. "No fair! No tickling!"

"Oh, my girl's ticklish. I'll have to remember that. Okay, okay, I'll stop for tonight. Promise."

She curled back up against him and rested her head on his shoulder. "This is nice. I'm glad I came over today."

"So am I, darlin', for a lot of reasons."

His arms tightened around her, and she relaxed. Before long, her eyes grew heavy and she drifted off to sleep in his arms.

Chapter Nine

Yaeger

It was Friday night and Yaeger found himself at his usual spot; a booth at the Tasty Skull. He watched Frankie through hooded eyes. She seemed on edge, but she'd been super busy when he came in, so he hadn't had the chance to ask her what was wrong.

"You know, some people would call this stalking," Lucas said as he sat down across from him.

"I'm watching out for her," he countered.

"Sure. Let's call it that."

"Some of these drunk assholes get handsy with her and she needs my protection."

"Something tells me your girl can handle a drunk asshole by herself," Lucas countered.

"That's beside the point. She's got a real stalker who has already killed two people for touching her. You'll have to forgive me if I'm not letting her out of my sight."

"Shit, man, you being with her puts you right in the fucker's crosshairs."

"I want the fucker to come after me. I'm not as weak as a human. This rogue shifter has met his match with me," he growled.

"Why haven't you told the rest of us about this rogue?"

"Because it's my problem to deal with."

"Brother, it'sourproblem. This rogue threatens all of us. We'll help you find him, but you get the honor of taking him out."

"Thanks, brother, I appreciate that," Yaeger replied.

"Don't mention it. I'm out of here. Just came to check on you," Lucas admitted before leaving.

Yeager turned his attention back to his mate. She should get a break soon, and then he could find out what was wrong.

Half an hour later, Frankie was sliding into the booth across from him. "Hey, lover boy, how are you tonight?" she asked, leaning across for a quick kiss.

"Mmm, better now that you're here, darlin'," he replied.

"You say the sweetest things."
